I bought a New Apache RTR 180 Bike Black Colour on 27th.Bike got the sticker- "manufactured on 18/8/2009".

I Considered Pulsar 180cc UGIII V4 bike and almost decided for it that I took the test ride and checked Apache 180.It is a Fun Bike or say Performer.Like the Ad says,"Racing DNA",Feels great in Cornering which I experienced quiet well in NH49.I liked the LCD Digital Console with 2 trip meters, clock ,top speed counter and that Blue Background Light.I Chose Black Colour as I liked it better than Police gaari colour white.

On the 2nd day itself ,I covered around 156kms(now 170kms).

Today Morning ,I Changed the Engine Oil(on 160kms before 1st free service) and Oil Filter as Recommended by team-bhp/xbhp guys.First Free Service ,I will leave the bike around 600kms.

Bike will fire off even on slightest twist of throttle. But ,the 4-5 times ,I took the Bike around 65kmph speed or above 4000rpm ,the Vibration is there unlike Pulsar 180UGIII V4 ,I took testride of.BTW ,Me owned a Pulsar 180 2006 .

Currently Enjoying My Ride. The Bike is Actually carrying almost like 2 persons:ohyeah:(Me Weighs 108kgs).Twice Went To Kochi(n) from where I took the delivery of the Bike.

I will share some sore points I have with Apache 180 too for a Neutral Observation(I am not a bike reviewer BTW!):

Tyres ,given a chance shall be replaced for Better Options.Vibration is not that much of an issue according to: Me,but still ,TVS can make it a little more refined. Then , the lacking of DC Lighting(which Pulsar 180UGIII V4 got) is something I miss in Apache 180 ,Since I will be Riding at Nights as well.Another issue(not an issue!) is the Black 180 and 160 are not so differentiable in First Look.Even the RTR180 Sticker may be read as RTR160 by many.

Here is A Video of Apache RTR180 captured by ken of xbhp in a ride to Shimla. The Bike's Agility can be seen :

Congrats for New ride..

After looking that video.. I really doubt if it was really taken as Serious video. Dont mind but Apache RTR 180 is even not worth of beating R15 in case of Cornering and Grip... How they concluded that It can beat R1? I saw video carefully, even there was chance to overtake Apache easily but R1 rider slowed down the speed. Just my comments..

Great buy btw ;) I still prefer RTR instead of Pulsar :D

^I think that Video is Just Profiling RTR 180.I think they never said it beats R1 or R15.

Be Desi;Buy Desi. :D

In My case R15 is not in my options.given for that Money ,I could have bought a Bullet LB500.because- I am not a racer ;)

After 1st service Vibes will reduce greatly, further more after 2nd service.
After 4K KMs , switch to synthetic oil. Mobil or petronas. Castrol ain't that good.

Thanks guys.

Congrats 4 ur new ride...

for how much u got this bike?

what is the price of RTR FI 160 there?

RTR 180 OTR(On The Road) Price is Rs71800/- which includes ,life tax, insurance,CESS and miscellaneous .FI may cost 2K more?.

^ yeah FI is generally 1~2k costly. OTR of RTR 180 is 73214 in Chennai. After Test Driving FZ-S , R15 & Suzuki GS150R i had to forget rtr due to its lack of refinement. I still haven't decided what to buy yet though.

Congrats on the bike, apart from refinement rtr rocks :D

Congratz! :hap2:

OT:regarding the Youtube vid: IMHO these guys racing/riding fast in hills, cutting through traffic, overtaking in wrong lane, are total doonkeys :@ Their license should be cancelled.

Surely they give a damn about their family or friends.

PS: Drive safe, Life is precious. Do buy a good riding gear and a nice certified helmet as i see you are somewhat a tourer.

u took the right decision...u will love its handling....dont drive above 50 for the 1st 1000kms.

Very good bike there but thumbs down to you for uploading huge pics! Please consider resizing the images.

I thought you'd an RE Bullet before? :\

@Gannu:I thought dial-up days were past. :D hence ,uploaded as it is.

Yes ,I had a Bullet Electra 4s till few months back.

@haider_up32:

Yes,I am following running in ,by riding under 4K rpm with occassional burst for few seconds to 5K rpms(70kmph) and slows down.this is what I tried with my New Bike Purchases for Running-in Fine.

Changed the Oil and Filter after finishing 160kms on my RTR 180.the Idea is got from team-bhp where someone recommended to change the oil in first 100kms for new bike ,since this oil contains maximum metal particles slided off from cylinder and rings.
