L&T and its partner demonstrated the operation of their essential Air Independent Propulsion system in Spain to the Indian Navy team present on land, citing ANI.
the reason they lost the contract. They don't have an underwater working prototype. Probably thought of using India as guinea pig.

According to Wikipedia, even India has AIP system or a design of such a system.

The Naval Materials Research Laboratory of Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro and Thermax has developed a 270 kilowatt phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC) to power the Kalvari-class submarines, which are based on the Scorpène design. All six Kalvari-class submarines will be retrofitted with AIP during their first upgrade. It produces electricity by reacting with hydrogen generated from sodium borohydride and stored oxygen with phosphoric acid acting as an electrolyte.[20][21][22]
Lol. Is it the same deal which was cancelled? They are talking about France but deal was with Spain. I don't know who is doing what. Or does L&T work with both France and Spain? So the artcile needs to be updated? We don't have anything right now.

There are 2 programs for submarine manufacturing in India with an end goal to be able to design and manufacturer our own subs without hand holding.

1. Project 75 - This was the first phase of the program to build 6 submarine in India. The deal was signed with a French company DCNS now known as Naval group. The submarine made were of French design called Scorpene submarine under the moniker Kalvari class submarine. Due to the delay in Phase 2 of the program, 3 more subs are to be manufactured in Mazagaon Dock with indigenous content (IC) of 60+%. The first six has only less than 32% IC with only the last one meeting that number.

2. Project 75 India - The second phase of the submarine program in India. The idea was to learn partly from P75 and some from P75I and then get the complete know how to make an Indian design submarine in India under Project 76. Siince, there are no major Diesel Electric submarine manufacturer in the world its boils down to 2-3 viable partner, so from the get go it was decided that 75 will go to French and 75I to Germans, Spain only played a spectator to avoid single vendor issue in the tendering process,, it never had any chance to begin with so is L&T.

IN 75-I, Mazagon Dock partnered with TKMS of Germany owning to their past relation and L&T with Spain's Navantia. Navantia has a rickety record of making subs, AIP or not they wouldn't have qualified anyways due to plethora of reasons.

The AIP manufactuerd by DRDO was supposed to be installed in the last 2 submarine of P75/French but the project got delayed and now will be installed in the first submarine/INS Kalvari of P75 during its major refit sometimes in late 2025 or early 26. The P75-I will feature a proven submarine AIP system which again is a dubious decision given we will have our own AIP by the time contracts are signed.

Hope this helps.

Ohh and Murthy can go F8 himself.

Another CEO, another tone deaf statement.
"There are times we worked on Sundays when something is going live on a Monday. But there are times when you don't work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday also because there is not much of work or you work the previous week," Krithivasan opined on how to strike a work-life balance.
If something is going live on a Monday and you ask people to work on Sundays, means your company management is shit. Don't release new things on Monday if you can't deliver it without working on a holiday. If you say there are minor things that need to be adjusted one or two days before live, then it means your QA is shit. In my company we have to test things 2-3 times and remove all defects on a test server before making it live. Don't tell me this guy directly puts live on production servers without testing? If this is coming from a CEO, then entire TCS production quality is shit.

Sometimes this is the only way to deploy and validate major releases minimising customer impact. This is why most banks and financial institutions undertake maintenance (which implies also making releases or changes) late nights on weekends when the customer interaction with their systems is expected to be less compared to other times of the day.
However this is more an exception than a norm. If you are doing major releases every other weekend, then something is seriously wrong.

What crazy bank does that? Nobody should push things on live servers even on Sundays. Imagine if something went really wrong and no one could do anything even working late night, then next day is start of a business day and start of trading hours worth crores of rupees. Only madmen would push something on live servers.

This shows the lack of awareness on your part. It would be stupid to do releases during business hours.
My dear, major releases are always planned activities with active support available at hand. Yes, folks need to work on such weekends. It is undertaken at a time which has a window of least customer impact. There is always a contingency or rollback plan on place. Besides if you think there is only one production server, then I am at loss of words.
