LOL Bangalore has almost the highest taxes and still we cant keep up ......I feel this is because of the mindset of the Police Administration...they dont want increase their effort. Can't we have private police and throw all these ppl out of job. There will be lakhs of youth ppl and private sector ready to do that at much lower overall cost and corruption .......the traffic police in Bangalore are the most corrupt ones for sure compared to other parts of India. In fact they are worse than the thugs auto drivers....can you imagine !Then we grew, and the cops could not keep up with the increased crime and nobody wants to increase taxes so we kinda gave up after that.

Pretty much sums up Bangalore nicely.blr_p said:Weather is about the only thing going for this place.
motorheadinc said:@ blr_p : South Indian food is terrible in Mumbai. :ashamed: The worst thing which is kinda omnipresent is the sweet sambhar :S My home town Amritsar
has way better south Indian joints and the Dosas and Uttapams are amazing. Ironically Pune has some way better South Indian joints.
@Unni: Tough to clarify. Its not just the clothes but the relative open-minded-ness, friendly-ness. No need to feel annoyed. Its a relative comparison and
not absolute by any means. More over its more quantitative than qualitative.
No man, the place just exploded in the last 15 years, 60% of this city is ppl not from here if that means anything.
NinByChoice said:Some general advice - Leave your linguistic and culinary baggage at home when you move out. Be willing to blend in with the local population. Dont expect to be treated well if you arent willing to blend in. If you want the comforts of your mother tongue and north indian food, you are much better off staying where you are.
Thing is i never got udipi style sambhar wherever i was so its the non-sweet you get with a thaali that i got used to and consider as 'normal' sambhar ie sour-ish rather than sweet.metalspree said:@blr_p the sambhar was sweet because its perfect udupi style.I digg that sambhar
Don't take it the wrong way because thats not how i intended it. I don't think many ppl dislike others coming here, more the merrierSupra said:LOL I dont like this outsider/insider concept at all. Its a damn country that we stay in....when the older residents terms ppl coming here as outsiders...its really unfortunate. And ya its the common attitude of most of the older educated residents here. I dont see such strong feeling elsewhere at least among the educated middle class folks. And ya if this continues ppl will move out...industries will also follow ! Thats how new cities/locations come up ......hospitality is one of the main factor which attracted economy to Bangalore and this is what is lacking most now
I like this idea but feel its more practical in the north than in the south given the different languages. Beat cops have to be from the area concerned, the ones behind a desk however can be from anywhere.Supra said:And instead of private police we can have something like Karnataka Police will work in AP/TN for 3 years ....then in some other state. All India Roaming Police Force
Seeing is believing. No amount of words can do justice to what's different. Unless you visit and stay there for a short duration, you will not in all likelihood realise the difference. And your perception of 'hot' being defined by skin show is both outdated and cliched. There is more to a person than just looks.unni said:@offtopic:
I have seen in many places where guys from outside south India (especially those from Delhi) complaining that the girls here are not hot! Can someone clarify what do they mean by that? Is it because the gir'ls here (in South) dress nicely while these so called hot ones show good amount of their body? Or are you implying something else? Don't get me wrong, but I am a little annoyed in this case. And yes, I have never been outside South India.

That's exactly my point. When you yourself agree that "there is more to a person than just looks", why complain? Please clarify what you meant by this "you will not in all likelihood realise the difference"? What differences?agantuk said:Seeing is believing. Mannerisms, strength of mind, confidence levels etc. Put a South Indian girl in UP, and a North Indian girl in Chennai or Bangalore, and the way they would go about helping themselves would bring out a few things.unni said:That's exactly my point. yes but they insist on speaking even if they know that the other person does not understand , here in hyderabad ,most of the locals speak hindi and not stick to speaking in telugublr_p said:Locals are kannadiga's they speak kannada
..doesn't this happen just about anywhere in the country, locals speaking their lingo ?
you are generalizing thingsagantuk said:Mannerisms, strength of mind, confidence levels etc. Put a South Indian girl in UP, and a North Indian girl in Chennai or Bangalore, and the way they would go about helping themselves would bring out a few things.
I see, so when you say Kannada gutti-la then what is their response ?kippu said:yes but they insist on speaking even if they know that the other person does not understand
