So, how about an Core 2 Duo E8600 instead?
my bios is of march, 2008c2qs like Q6600 are based on 65nm so OP can get that. With a bios update around Q4 of 2008 nvidia introduced support for 45nm LGA 775 cpus for chipsets like 630/650/680 but they may or may not support 45nm C2Qsdepending on manufacturer . For eg. compare the following links

are you sure it's Zebronics not Zotac because I could not find any zebronics nvidia 7050/nforce 610i mobo on zebronic's website .. anyway, even if there's such a product I would not dare putting a quad core cpu on a such mobo simply because the build quality can't be trusted.
Zebronics NF-7050 mobocheck with your motherboard manufacturer website to see whether there's any further bios update released or not or better post the exact model and manufacturer name of the motherboard.
so, after updating the bios.. would Q6600 support my mobo??BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 080015, 3/29/2008[DOUBLEPOST=1383476036][/DOUBLEPOST]

So, should i go for Q6600 or not? Getting it for 3.3k
Let me be clear... I'm looking forward to buy C2Q for short-term i.e., 4-6 months.. After that.. i'll upgrade whole rig, probably to amd fx6300.. But not now.. Now i'm in need of a quad core, 'cause of my mobo.. Which is a lga775 socket one.. I'm just curious which C2Q would be good and supports my system, which has a 450w psu as well..! My monitor resolution- 1440x900.. I ran max payne 3, Gta 4 at this res. With high settings!
but my mobo supports only cpu w/ FSB 1066MHz![DOUBLEPOST=1383577571][/DOUBLEPOST]Q9550 is best for the legacy C2Q. Doubt you will be able to find one.
dude.. Will it support or not?I saw someone on this forum selling for around 1K
