HEY NEED HELP I cannot decide which mobo to get my budget is 4k for the mobo these are my configs< plzz suggest the budget is tight and fixed
INTEL C2D E6750
XFX 9600 GT NVIDIA® GeForce®
Transcend 2GB-DDR2-800MHZ
SEGATE 250 GB HDD
SONY DVD WRITER WITH LITESCRIBE
MONITOR- 19' viewsonic

I say increase your budget and get the Abit IP35E for 5.2k which will let you overclock decently too.

i dont know how to overclock and ive heard for overclocking a good PSU and and an SMPS is needed it ll do a hole in my pocket!! so wont be overclocking

Corsair vx450

CoolerMaster Xtreme 600w

Seventeam 500w

I think all of these are in the range of 3-4k.The Corsair one is the best.

I think corsair HX620 can handle two 9600s in sli. so if you wanna, in future...

hey if no overclocking then u can't go wrong with intel mobos.

the cpu u have 6750 will need 1333 mhz fsb.for that we have g33/p35 chipsets.

i suggest u to gofor intel dg33fb or intel dg33bu at about 5000/-.

look here Intel® Desktop Board DG33BU Overview and here Intel® Desktop Board DG33FB Overview

the diff bw them is fb is atx . bu is microatx.

i using dg33fb now and no problems with that!!

also works sweetly with ubuntu 7.10 too.

but still i would suggest u a good smps .

spend a lil more and get the POv 500w balck diamond for abt 2.8k....if u cant spend much the powersafes and vips shud do fine for now...
also anoder thing is dat have u already got the 6750???? if not u shud have a look at the e8XXX series.

mobowise if u aint ocing an intel mobo wud be ur best bet...g31 shud come near ur budget or get better the biostart tp35d2a7...p35 oces nicely if needed...and comes within ur budget too.....

Get the Biostar TP35D2-A7 (its around ~4k odd) -- do note though, there are some slight incompatibilities with the Biostar and newer E8xxx procs, a bit of fiddling around with BIOS versions should hopefully get you set.

Else the Abit IP35-E for ~5.5k

If you're absolutely sure you do not need all the frills/tweaks offered in the BIOS, you can settle for one of the Intel boards based on the G31/G33 chipsets (though Intel RMA is supposedly a headache).

-- G31 chipset is a stripped-down version of the G33. Major differences seem to be the ICH7 southbridge on the G31 vs the newer ICH9 southbridge on the G33 (more SATA/USB ports on the ICH9).

I would consider nV based boards as a last option. They have a single-channel memory controller, which would cripple performance.

A PSU and SMPS are the same thing :S

Overclocking boards in general help you fine-tune your setup better, not just for overclocking alone. Also the components tend to be of a little higher grade.

Yes you do need a higher quality PSU to overclock, but that doesn't mean you should skimp out on the PSU if you're not overclocking. A 1k PSU for a 9600GT and a dual-core setup is pushing it. I'd say save up and get the Corsair VX450 or skip the graphics card.
