Need help in port forwarding (Airtel Xstream with Static IP)

@napstersquest Hey, I am also trying to port forward my Airtel Fiber Router. But its not happening. Came across this forum along my quest.
1) I have a static IP
2) An http server running on my laptop on port 8001
3) port forwarded 8001:8001 on airtel wifi settings
4) But if i check port 8001 on portchecker it says it is closed.

Please help!

Which router is it? Some models show the option but don't actually apply it/has no effects.
That's why most people here prefer to put that into bridge mode and use own routers.

To avoid many future headaches, always check any port forwarding setup by actually trying to access that resource from a mobile 4g/5g connection instead of testing/relying on port status checker tools/websites.
