Need help with upgrades

Yeah either get it from PrimeABGB OR TheITWares, both are Lamington Rd. based enterprises and enjoy a good reputation here on TE.

Another option is to source it from flipkart.com [but be warned prices will be higher].

My personal preference is try to get a day off, go to Lamington Rd. with a few guys from TE, get a good bargain for yourself and assemble PC yourself.

Hope this helps and happy RIG hunting. Cheers!!

If you're from mumbai then it's better to get it from lamington road, online pricing will be 5-8% costly including shipping and octroi charges.

^^ You are reducing the number of DIMM slots + you are not getting any solid returns [apart from UEFI instead of BIOS -- http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/asus_uefi_bios/ / ], so I will suggest you get the Intel board but if you feel you can bear the after sales problems of ASUS go ahead with the ASUS board it is just fine and has the slick looking UEFI instead of BIOS which can e a bit intimidating the first few times around.

Few of my friends have the ASUS P8H67-M LE, don't know the difference between this and the LX.

^^ Depends, do you plan to upgrade to 8GB later down the line [I mean adding another 4GB module in ~6 months OR so].

If that is not the case, get 2 x 2GB memory modules the dual-channel bandwidth will be greater than a single 4GB modules bandwidth, so you'll get advantages in certain applications. More on this --> http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/dual-channel-ram-ddr3-4gb,2618.html / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-channel_memory_architecture.

Hope this clarifies your doubt #Solid_Snake. Cheers!!

nah, i think 4GB is enough for me, i aint as hardcore as u guys
<
.

so yeah as of now its 2x2GB RAM sticks.

^^ Nah as the days go you'll realise that 8GB is standard these days, there is nothing hardcore about it, plus decent RAM kits are available without a premium on the price.

But definitely if you feel that you'll not upgrade your RAM sticks soon, it is better if you get the 2 x 2GB kit ~just for the dual-channel bonus you'll get out of the same.

so yeah...will be ordering the cabinet (carbide 400R) RAM soon..

The proccy and mobo will come as soon as i get my CC, which will allow me to get it thru EMI

Check out COOLER MASTER Storm Scout-6.1k http://www.theitware...case-p-398.html

COOLER MASTER HAF 922-6.7k-http://www.theitware...case-p-392.html

Storm Scout doesn't have a very good airflow profile, personal experience -- have it for the past two years, good cabinet with an average airflow design -- http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CoolerMaster/Storm_Scout/ / http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/706.

Good for fast mobilization though, do check out its sibling the Storm Enforcer -- http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CoolerMaster/Storm_Enforcer/ / http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2011/08/18/cm-storm-enforcer-review/1.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Ordered the 400R and the other components a few hrs ago. Thanks guys.

Now i need to think of a way to get a dust filter for the top of the case.

By going wih Carbide 400R cabby you made a right choice, its better than CM 690 II

For the timebeing you can cover the top of your cabinet with any cloth...
