Need recommendations for Fiction Novel(s)

It should be as realistic as possible, have romantic elements and should be really engrossing and emotionally moving. (If such a combination is possible :P)

I haven't read many Fiction books (only HP and 13 reasons why) and I'd prefer if its not a series. Also I'd prefer if the protagonist isn't very old and the timeline of the Novel is also not older than 90s

Try reading Irving Wallace's Celestial bed and Second lady! :) And for action with romance, try reading David Baldacci's Absolute power.:)
 
^No. You are having a different taste! :P For romance genre, people are watching lots and lots of movies, but you're asking for books! That's why :)
 
individual preferences vary a lot, and what you might consider moving, might not be at all moving for me.

but I would say if you prefer moving, emotional types of story, but dont mind not having the romantic element, i would suggest you atleast try the john grisham rainmaker or likes.

On a serious note, the best I could think of is " The Mayor of Casterbridge" but then, it won't satisfy your last criteria (90's).
 
I said that the timeline shoudnt be older than 90s can be anywhere from 1990+ even near this timeline will do. Anyways the timeline isn't a very big issue if the book is really worth it.

And I do not want an emotional drama, just something I can think upon later and that could possible move me..a hard look at reality perhaps
