From what i have read about the M2 ....they have balanced sound ...not bassy at all ....not lacking also ....and great midrange

DDM ....some might call it bassy... but it has good bass ...cons will be the unique design ( fit issues)

ask santosh he has them !

I didn't find it to be particularly impressive, there were a couple more people on this board that had trouble with one side blacking out.

The left side of my RE1 blacked out couple of days back and it is not even 2 months since I started using it. I guess this is a common
problem across Head Direct products.

^ no its not common ....high end IEMs do not go bad this easily ....RE2 is another matter but RE1 and 0 should have good build
as in your case get them replaced ..!it was probably a defective piece. (...or someone pulled the wire ....who? :P)

DDM Pros : Great texture in both bass and mids - something I'm yet to find in any of my IEMs. Due to the body, texture and the unique layering (probably due to driver positioning), it makes music "alive". Even going from DBA-02, which I think suits my tastes perfectly, I can appreciate these aspects of DDM. The bass won't be little - but that can be changed with tips (I am yet to roll tips). The bass, as strategy says, is good bass. It comes in handy while enjoying a few things - from good ol' jazz to good recordings like Pink Floyd.

I prefer quality bass over quantity. But, there's nothing called a "too much" bass as long as it has quality :P

When it comes to sound stage, it's extremely wide sometimes, collapsed a few times - based on the recording.

Cons: The nylon cable is microphonic, the fit can be a terrible issue sometimes. The treble is recessed. Especially after DBA-02, I am transforming into a treble-head of sorts. But, due to that recessed treble (which is reported by some to improve with different tips), it never sounds sibilant.

I think it's hard to describe an IEM like DDM's signature with my limited vocabulary. May be if more people post impressions, it might be nice. I'd ideally like a review from someone who doesn't like DDM, so that it balances out the opinions. For now, I can give you mark2410's review (who's not a bass-head) ;)

For now, the only other (Indian) 'impressions' thread is on HFV: The Radius DDM/HP-TWF11R. But be warned that he's completely smitten, so take them with a bucket less of enthusiasm :P.

As for Head-direct, their IEMs produce great SQ, but their build quality is generally shabby.

As for PFE, you need to get it from Amazon US at the moment. Someone got PFE 'Perfect bass' sometime back from hifiheadphones.co.uk. But, I find them very costly.

Thanks for the elaborate reply.

Tilting towards the DDM now, don't think RE-0 and RE-1 can perform without an amp(?). What about RE-zero? Any good?

Can you please listen to a couple of songs on them and let me know how they churn out?

Astronomy : Blue Oyster Cult

The Rain Song - Led Zep

Great Gig in the sky : Pink Floyd

Love will tear us apart - Joy Division

Torrent : Indian Ocean

Melancholic Ecstasy : Indian Ocean

Ambulance Chasing : Porcupine Tree

Okay, they're more than a couple:P but please please can you help me out?

RE-Zero is a variation of RE0. There are plenty of people on head-fi who prefer ZERO to 0. ZERO should be easily driven out of any source in contrast to RE0. It has a bit more bass, better mids, slightly lesser treble from what I gather. If you want to try out RE0, but are put off by the requirement of an amp, try Zero. I read many people consider it to be worth the difference in price.

BTW, RE0 can be driven out of any portable source, likewise for RE1. But they both need amps to shine and show their full worth.

Pink Floyd and PT sound good out of DDM. I've tried DSOTM and "Lightbulb Sun" by PT. Let me try the other songs and get back to you (but no guarantees, I am forgetful :ashamed:)

Got my RE-2 and loving it. It defintely sounds better than my old PL-30. They should have given a pouch though. Build quality is not bad.

^Great! That's my favorite IEM. Nice that you are enjoying them. :)
Yeah they are pretty nice.
Hey Faheem, Thanks for the advice.
I got the package this week from Amarbir[Lynx-India]. It was Nicely packed and Delivered well on time. Amarbir got it delivered pretty quick, the fastest I should say and replied to all my PMs.

Earphones are pretty good. They should have given a pouch though, like they give in Soundmagic earphones. I have my old PL-30 pouch. I will use them. It sounds better than PL30 for sure.

Any idea how are the cable winder from Pl-30 used?
I never used them till now.
