:) :) Hi everybody
i am new linux user.and i want to connect net via ubuntu 8.10. How can i connect ? is there any threat of virus in linux? then please tell me suggest an antivirus? and how can i install it/any software in linux?there isn no exe file or support..

please helpp....

You can connect to Linux using any means of internet whether its DSL Modem, Wifi connection or Mobile/Plug2Surfy Connection , its all available there..

No there are no threats in Linux.. No need to install AV. You can install s.w using distro own package manager or package wrapper [GUI front like Synaptic/Add Remove in Ubuntu] ... Linux is not windows :P You can't run exe natively but yes you can emulate them through Wine..
