There could be a problem with Vista not regsitering the HAL (hardware abstraction Layer).. try this :
Start > Run > msconfig > Boot (tab) > Advanced > check Detect HAL
Reboot and go back to this setting to uncheck the option
Once this is done... reinstall the Network Card on another slot (if not using the onboard then)

I switched to XP x64 a couple of weeks ago, only because of network problems.. stormblast please post here if this HAL thing work or if you work something out. missing Vista :(

^^^ udit is not talkin about bridging two net connections...bsnl n mtnl adsl service can be used in bridge mode in order to overcome manual portforwarding...

@udit: bridge mode will only work if port-forwarding thing was the one bottlenecking his speed...from what stormy is saying it doesnt seem that portforwarding is the issue...

You guys may want to have a look at this tool:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...9d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&displaylang=en

It is on the lines of ethereal and wireshark... unlike ethereal you don't need to install WinPCap separately or anything...

If you prefer ethereal, you should try that tool. Just make sure you don't have any other network activity going (just to make your own life simpler, filtering can sometimes be difficult), start the capture, try connecting to the websites which cause problems, and then see what the capture tells you.

well i am having a weird problem with vista. everything seems to be working ok but the net is just working too slowly compared to windows xp. am using dual boot.

msn messenger wont even connect. google talk connects. browsing is extremely slow. te or thl or erodov takes atleast 15seconds to open. no idea what the issue is. when i reboot into xp the connection is fine.

os = vista ultimate x64 & windows xp x64
net = exatt 256k

for config you can check the signature below.

any help or inputs are welcome.
