lol, fk CC guy just called me and ready the package. I ve to include the original DOA certificate and Original bill along with the phone and all bundled accessories :P

Sounds like a plan on double crossing, else why would he ask for the original bill/invoice?

Anyway i have the perfect package ready already. :)

while even i cant deny the desire to see those guys faces when the open the package and find stones, I wouldn't want to be doing this with my own package.

For one, the courier guy wont mostly accept it full of stones :p Plus if you think flipkart is going to be charged a couple of grands for shipping a 3kg packet by bluedart then think again. Corporates client have very different rates from retails one as far as companies like bluedart goes. If you want to ship a phone from Kolkata to Mumbai, and have a company account with bluedart then 500 grams cost less than 140 bucks :P for electronic items and 120 for others

One more thing I did add, while Flipkart is reasonably reliable company and while the policy might suck, it is not exactly a company which will cheat you.

I understand that. But what should such a company be doing in case a customer receives a DOA product? Their policies are entirely different from others. The customer has to take it to authorized service center and get it throughly checked and get a DOA certificate from them. Then it has to be send back to flipkart, and they take the phone to service center and get it repaired/replaced using the DOA certificate we have procured. After that they send us back whatever the service center guys return them. The whole thing will take 3 or more weeks. Its already been 5 days since i got the sertificate with me. Isnt this plain BS !

If the customer has to go and get the phone checked by service center, then he knows to get it replaced by the service center itself. No need for FK's intervention. And they should stop referring to "we provide entire replacement for DOA products".

They have least concern of our difficulties in going to the service center and procuring DOA certificate. People opt for online deals to avoid such hassles. I had to travel 110KM to and from the service center, and these 2 weeks are my busiest weeks of the year.

And if i ship them back the complete phone, the DOA certificate and the original bill/invoice, then i would be let with nothing as the proof of purchase. I have been purchasing a lot from ebay and other online dealers and this was not what i experienced in case of DOA.

On the first day, ive been running around my town searching for a dell service center, and finally got one shop which has dell stall and checked the phone from them, and called flipkart, and they said, they are not Dell authorized, so it stands no value. What do they think of us?

Although I agree Flipkart needs slightly more stringent replacement/DOA related policies, sending stones in your consignment is definitely not in good spirits. Trust me they are remotely going to feel offended when they find stones in the package and God forbid if they ever claim that they only found stones inside the package and not the defective phone, you are in SOUP! There's nothing more you could do beyond that other than running around in circles, posting about the incident in a dozen sites and finally pulling that last strand of hair out.

I'd suggest you not to do so. bitsandpieces is right when he mentioned about corporate sectors having lower rates for the consignment services.

You can however spread the word about what went wrong here. That you were forced to go to the nearest Dell's authorised service centre to get a DOA certificate and so forth and that Flipkart should have a customer-friendly policy. :)

Well, I can understand the pain. But see, the issue is that by sending stones will you get anything out ? That is why I said I would avoid such tactics if it was my phone :P

It is a interesting way to get there attention, but do you think they will look even at it twice ?
