Looking for a new car.
My budget is 12lacs.
I googled and narrowed to the all new fluidic verna.
I'm more into muscle power and looks. And this one packs with more feature but lacks the handling.
Should i go with it or should I consider other ones like new fiesta or vw vento.
Im looking in the diesel variant.
And what's the waiting period for verna.
Anyone droved any of the cars, Please throw your suggestion.
and one thing, how the mileage on these cars.

Thanks.

The purchase place matters the most .
I would say test drive the cruze. In HR and Chandigarh it is for for 13L OTR .In delhi it goes as high as 14l .

Still test drive Cruze once . LT trim has most of the basic features.

Since you are looking for muscle power, Cruze as suggested is a good choice. Much better handling and engine than Verna. You can also look at the Renault Fluence. Looks great IMO.

does cruze have more power than verna.
hows the city driving on cruze.

Cruze is the best in that range..

if it crosses ur budget :

The fiesta diesel is just plain old awesome to drive..
The vento is almost perfect but not half as much fun as the fiesta
I wouldnt uy the verna, we have the verna petrol AT in the family, and i find it simply ok...

@edge111hussain
really in love with cruze.
yesterday, the whole night read on the forum about the cruze. damn, its crazy.
the only that im thinking is the FE and Price.

i had test drive of fiesta, but it not of my taste.

Cruze sucks in build quality. Too many rattles and FE is sad. New cruze is around the corner wait for it.

I did not like the new verna's handling at high speed. It has a soft suspension coz of which it handles like a boat. Features are what making the car sell it like hot cakes.

Vento is pretty good.

if you are looking for a vento, try to get it sooner rather then later.vw is giving the insurance free as of now. Also if you want the 2011 manufactured version discount is available upwards to 40 k.

waiting period of a diesel verna is around 1 month given that they may not have the colour in their stockyard.

Wait for new Cruze... Verna got a boat like handling at top speeds, but i think that is the problem with all Hyundai cars... Vento is descent but Cruze would be much better if you can stretch a bit...

any idea when the new cruze gonna release.

One more thing about cruze, it will scrape all the way to glory due to its low GC.

A friend had to replace the running board in first month itself. Running board is priced at whooping 50K for one side.

New Cruze should be out in less than 2 month.

GC= Ground Clearance.

Friend while getting used to cruze couldn judge a stone while taking a turn and banged right into it.

Feels sorry for your friend.
Thanks would consider it.

GC of cruze is pretty decent at 165 mm
Verna fluidic is around 170 mm .
while that of VENTO is even lower at 160mm .

the only negative thing about is the interiors . Some like the all black interiors while some hate it . You can even wait for the new cruze .

it is rumored to have more GC and better interiors . You might be able to grab some discount on the current cruze when the new one launches .

Unless you live in Bangalore or a village, 165mm is a decent enough ground clearence.

Yup, but in my hometown, the entire town roads was under construction for underground sewage. Except those main road, it's like driving in shattered roads.
Crazy government.

I agree with metal, Vento is an all rounder. The diesel engine is a gem, not as aggressive as fiesta or cruze but good nonetheless. Highline is pretty packed with features one would need. It has a classic look which will not fade with time.

But in case you are into features a bit more, verna is the one to go for, the ride quality would take a shot though.

I do not like the fiesta looks and the price and availability of parts with ford is unreliable, plus ford has not been able to sell many fiestas anyways. Another bad thing is that the new fiesta engine is not as good as the last one.

Cruze has a monster engine and looks brilliant and is feature packed. GM A.S.S. is so-so, and build quality is bad compared to vento or verna.

Out of all these cruze is the best to drive considering the fun, then comes fiesta followed by vento and verna.
On the overall vento wins hands down as the sensible choice.
The driver's seat on vento and cruze are good, verna is pathetic. On thing though, the space is very limited in cruze considering the price.

#Metalspree maybe you would like to comment on the cabin space in cruze :P

One more thing, the ground clearance on cruze may look alright but its front is extended way out. So not only will you not be able to see some things in front of you or the side, the car's front might and does get scraped on some of the speed bumps in India. Did I mention I hate the stock lights in cruze?!
