13 Teams to be accepted

Budget cap of 40M pounds offered to teams, those accepting will get following benefits:

  • Allowed to run constantly adjustable wings
  • engines with no rev limit
  • more powerful KERS systems
  • unlimited out-of-season track testing with no restrictions on the scale and speed of wind tunnel testing.

Other 2010 changes for all teams include the expected ban on refueling and tyre warmers, and an increase in the minimum car weight from 605 to 620kg, a move designed to offset the disadvantage heavier drivers face when running KERS.

Ban on refueling, that should have interesting repurcussions. Maybe they should explore alternative sources like bio fuels too. No I am not asking a cow to poop in your favorite car, talking about jatropha and algae for instance.

And what about high revvs? I suppose they increase the torque, right? There has to be a catch here, they cant just hand it over like that unless it effectively has no real benefits :lol:

Those who have the budget cap will not be able to produce engines that revv more than 18 or 18.5k so I doubt that this rule will give anyone any advantage :lol: If the same thing was offerered to Ferrari or BMW they would have engines revving in excess of 20k :rofl:

more revs = more power if the displacement is same

40m pounds is going to be very dicey deal to sell..

Ferrari and Mclaren might not be too pleased..

If you thought 09 shaked up the order,fun is just about to begin.
if one look into finer details,you can realize there is only one way to go for ferrari,mcm,bmw et al.
For eg see stuff like

5.2.3 The maximum power, in or out, of any KERS must not exceed 60kW.
Energy released from the KERS may not exceed 400kJ in any one lap.
Measurements will be taken at the connection to the drivetrain.

For Cost-Regulated Teams only the following will apply :
- the power in is unrestricted ;
- the power out is limited to 120kW ;
- the energy released per lap is limited to 800kJ ;
- measurements will be taken at any FIA approved point in the drivetrain.

9.1 Transmission types :
No transmission system may permit more than two wheels to be driven.
This Article will not apply to Cost-Regulated Teams.
Potential 4wd,unlimited engines with ultd revs,powerful kers,unltd wing adjustments.

lola,prodrive,usf1...
i cant imagine the chaos.

There is a cosworth v8 (2006 williams) gathering dust somewhere,it can easily hit 20k.
