If its a gaming machine, it has to be AMD. BTW, both graphics card options are weak. It should be either geforce 7xxx or ATI X18xxx.

He could try something like this...http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guides/MHGSBG/article.php/10707_3552841__2

I forgot to add.....He is planning to buy a ATI GFX card too. which would be the best one if it could be compared with the performance of 7800GT.

PS: he is going for ATI as he is getting some discount thr.

Maybe he can wait for the x1800xt. If hes getting a good discount, the xt will be a great card to go for.

^ The X1800XT 512MB showed up at Allstarshop just yesterday for the targetted 599$ price, but has already been sold it.

from yesterday, i just read reviews and decided that i'd go for AMD processor (any suggestions). probably X2.
and instead of X800 XL, i'd go for X1800 XL. X1800 XT is bit expensive for me, but so far X1800 XL in favor. i can wait for it though.

Eh? Nothing wrong with the Pentium D...

I have a 820 running @ 3.6 Ghz.

And its giving me flawless performance... that too on 32 BIT XP Pro.

Im chaging to XP 64 as soon as my CopperHead arrives and i can upgrade firmware.

i might go for AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor

Model ADA3800BVBOX - Retail, 322/- and o/c it to 2.2GHz (same as the clock for 4200+)

That looks good. If you want to OC, go for the DFI Lanprty nf4 Ultra-D mobo, and pair it with good fast RAM. Like OCZ or Crucial Ballistix. Go for 2x1GB. Most of the new games need 2GB. So will Vista when it comes out next year.

hey hippy2981,

You told me u had a problem with assembling alll the products if u buy them separately.

Does anyone know any good site where you can custom make your PC and they deliver it assembled

ABS makes a nice "ultimate" series of gaming PC's, There's also Velocity Micro. And who can forget Alienware (but these tend to be seriously overpriced)
