Hi,

Im looking for a Jack-of-all-trades kinda phone, which has a fast UI.

Now there are 2 categories (please don't ask why...it's a psychological effect thingie)

Sub 11K

Candybar phone with features like the E51 or K790i.

or

Sub 15K

A fast WM PDA... MUST have touchscreen and cam (keypad, etc.. would be lovely)

In this looking at either HTC or Asus (any others??).

Please advise..

Muchos Gracias:)

G700 has everything that you are looking for. Price is marginally above your specs. Approx Rs. 15,500/- or a little less.

I have an E51, and it's the fastest Symbian phone I've ever used! The camera is 2mp, but it plain sucks balls...I got mine for 11.9k with a 2gb + 512meg card..

As for the other category, HTC seems very expensive, but I dunno quality-wise...Asus is very very decent..a pal of mine has a 527 and it seemed awesome for the short while I played around with it..

Just saw some phones at Alfa... any other place where one can get more Asus or HTC, etc phones... and is Alfa a reliable place to buy phones from??

Cheers guys..

but isnt asus india warranty and service supposed to be utter crap??

HTC support is also as good as Asus support.

Moreover Asus PDAs are not distributed by Rashi (Asus motherboards and other things are, Rashi's support is supposed to be not very good)

When compared to HTC, Asus is priced well. I have used HTC and Asus both, I would prefer Asus for Value for Money.

For the Thread starter:
You can look for Asus P320 also, its selling for around 12k, if you want a key pad you have to take the Asus P527 for 15k otherwise P530 and P527 features are same (except that you wont get free oneindia map in 1gb micro sd card with P530). P530 looks something like an iphone/HTC touch clone.

ASUS PDA service is gazillion times better than that of HTC
