--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

I mainly use it for Entertainment & Photoshop and stuffs...
RAM - 1333 MHz is fine
CPU - 3 cores is fine

1. CPU - AMD AthlonII X4 635 ~ 5k
2. Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 ~6k/ MSI 880GMA-E45~5.7k(After Sales Service of Asus(which is handled by Rashi) is not good. If u still insist then Asus M4A88TD M EVO~ 6.3k)
3. Case - 6k+ cases for a low to mid range system is a overkill IMHO. A CM Elite 430~2.7k would do. If u insist for a better case the the CM 690 with transparent side window ~ 4.7k
4. Corsair VX450 ~ 3.6k (Is enough for any mid range PSU out there. If u want more headroom add 1k and get a VX550 instead of changing PSU later)
5. RAM - 2GB Cosair Value RAM/ GSkill ~ 2.3k
6. HD - 1 TB Seagate ~ 3.2k
7. Sony/ HP/ Samsund DVD R/W ~ 1k
8. Logitech MMKB+Mouse ~ 0.7k
9. GPU: Sapphire HD4770 512MB GDDR5 ~ 6k

Total: 30.5k-32.5k

Thanks...
but 30k does not include the GPU... no need for a Mouse/KB/DVD either... so can share that extra 7k b/w CPU/MOBO/CASE...

I was damn impressed by the Phantom... also i was keen on the HAF 922... i know its a over-kill but i would not be buying one more for another 3-4 yrs or so...

I was damn impressed by the Phantom... also i was keen on the HAF 922... i know its a over-kill but i would not be buying one more for another 3-4 yrs or so...

Then i would suggest the following,

1. CPU - AthlonII X4 635 ~ 5k
2. Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 ~6k/ MSI 880GMA-E45~5.7k(After Sales Service of Asus(which is handled by Rashi) is not good. If u still insist then Asus M4A88TD M EVO~ 6.3k)
3. Case - CM HAF 922~ 6.8k
4. Corsair VX450 ~ 3.6k (Is enough for any mid range PSU out there. If u want more headroom add 1k and get a VX550 instead of changing PSU later)
5. RAM - 4GB Cosair XMS3 1600MHz Kit/ GSkill RipJaws 1600MHz 4GB Kit ~ 5.4k
6. HD - 1 TB Seagate ~ 3.2k
Total: 30k

Get a good 4GB DDRIII kit and a decent PSU now itself as they fit easily in ur budget.
One more option is get 2GB value RAM ~ 2.3k and invest the 3k in the proccy and getting a PhenomII X4 945/955BE ~7-8k(Get the C3 revision with 95w TDP)

Choose PSU depending on GPU usage. If u are gonna get a GPU that uses <=130-140w Peak usage then the VX450(HD4850/GTS250/GTS450/HD5770 or similar).
If its gonna be a GTX460/HD5850 or similar then the VX550 to give u more headroom for upgrades.

Cool... will get a quote from SP road and then decide on the final config...

and i would go with the 2GB RAM first and will upgrade later... i would go with the HD 4850...

Thanks a lot...

DECIDED

AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 945 C3

Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3

GSkill RipJaws 1600MHz 4GB Kit

500 GB Seagate

Corsair VX450

UNDECIDED

Case... suggest a good case which looks good and has great cable management features... i'm thinking of tempest evo... around 4k

GPU... i play occasional games... regularly do image/video processing... but must be able to play latest games at reasonable settings...

I heard GPU prices might fall next month... but i somewhat think mid-range cards are gonna get cheaper only after 5-6 months...

Are Mushkin RAMs available in Bangalore...?

Is the power supply enough ? or should i go for VX550... ?

i currently use an 550V APC UPS... should i buy an 1000V one ?

Does the CPU need additional cooler...if i choose to overclock it?

Thanks...

for case here are few suggestions -

1) CM 690 II - 5.5k approx

2) NZXT Tempest EVO - 5.6k

3) Antec 600 - 5.5k

my personal suggestion would be to get CM HAF-X - 11.7k (best case for cable management & air cooling)

For GPU - Nvidia GTX 460 768MB - 10.5k approx

yes,i think mushkin rams are available in Banglore

corsair VX450 is more than enough for this setup. however if you plan to overclock CPU & GPU to it's max. & go for multi GPU setup in future then you should get a TX650 or VX550 atleast.

your UPS will do just fine if you will be using it for shutting down the PC. if you are planning to work while there is no power then get APC 1100 VA UPS for about 5.5k approx.

Stock cooler is good for stock processor speeds,if you plan to overclock it then you should get a aftermarket cooler..

i hope this answers all your questions.. :)

If you plan to overclock go for 955BE. you can overclock moderately on stock volts or +1/2 increment on vcore. Do track the temps on stock cooler. When planning to OC higher near to 4ghz or so get an aftermarket cooler.

vx450 is more than enough even on overclocked setup along with the gtx460 overclocked too.

Yes mushkin rams are available in bangalore
specifically @ aashirwad on SP road.
I would rather suggest g.skill trident 4gb kit for 6k

Thanks for the replies guys...

I'll go with...

AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 945 C3

Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3

GSkill RipJaws 1600MHz 4GB Kit

500 GB Seagate

Corsair VX450

CM 690 II

After 2 Months

Sapphire HD 5750

1/2 TB Seagate

LG 22x DVD Writer

Razer Goliathus Alpha Fragged Speed Edition + DeathAdder

SoundCard

Speakers

What would be the final price guys...:S

also 955 is 30W greater than 945... what difference does this make in terms of power consumption...

Guys,

if i do not plan to overclock, then what should i buy - both having same price range

1333 MHz Ram with lower latency - GSkill CL7

1600 MHz ram with higher latency - GSkill CL9

IF you are in Bombay there is a store called

Prime ABGB/

They Are going to sell NZXT Phantom in October

You should go for 1600 MHz ram with higher latency - GSkill CL9

It will definitely improve performance
