I have bought exactly the same board and cpu, yesterday. You can see my rig configuration in my signature.

But remember you have to buy ram in multiples of 2 and not 3, as this board requires DUAL CHANNEL DDR3 memory. That is you need 2GB (2x1GB) or 4GB ( 2x2GB) or 6GB (2x3GB) etc. Don't take odd memory, it will not work properly.

I have bought a Corsair vx550, becoz I may add another GPU later on for Crossfire. And vx450 does not have 2 PCI-E 6-pin connectors. Since you are using NVidia GTX, you cannot use crossfire, so the vx450 should be ok.

The board has good reviews. I am planning to assemble it tomorrow.

Thanks so much guys for your inputs.

Will keep my VX450 as you guys suggest it will work fine.

So,finally going for the above config.

@rajndra - as you have same mobo and proccy did you update your bios or both worked fine out of the box without updating the bios? And which memory you using and how much?

Yup going for 2X2 GB DDR3 Memory

thanks

Edit- Which brand gpu will be good?i just checked dealer section and Palit GTX 260 216 is available for 11k should i go for this one or some other brand?

And also looking for a cpu cooler, which one would do fine with this proccy?

thanks

I didn't have to update the bios, it works fine for X3 720 and X4 810. It needs flashing for new processors only (ie X4 955).

Memory is Corsair TW3X4G1333C9 (2x2GB) XMS3 DDR3 1333 Mhz. Bought from Amarbir (lynx-india.com).

What is the price for the mobo and proccy ?

mediahome confirmed that its AM3 mobo & not AM2+?? Please let us know the price for the mobo....

Also didn't you find low latency DDR3 1600 RAM...

Yeah have checked with the mobo its a AM3 proccy mobo n not AM2.
Well i am going for the corsair XMS3 2x2 GB 1333Mhz which will cost me arnd 7.5k.and as far as i know this mobo wont support 1600Mhz ram at the same time they'll cost me more so dont think it will be worth it.:)

The mobo supports DDR3 1600 with an OC profile... Read it in a review where they used PC1600 DDR3 RAM

Check this RAM from newegg.. costs $ 63.99 so the landing cost would be ~4.5-5k taking KMD's current conversion rate... You will get PC1600 RAM which is low lactency @ much cheaper...

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Thanks so much for the info n link mate though i am not going to overclock at all but would ask KMD incase he can some how manage to get me that ram would surely go for it hands down.Cheers

Mate thanks for your suggestion but currently i am using this Gigabyte EP43-DS3L mobo along with E8500,Sapphire HD4850 gpu with Corsair 2X2 GB XMS2 Ram.but want to change it now and i find that AMD setup along with 260 216 to be better thats why....

hey if not overclocking then U should go for following -

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L - 5.5k

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 - 11k

RAM: G.Skill 2x2GB PI Black - 3.4k~ KMD

better in ? Just get Q9650, sell E8500, 8-9k~ investment. 3GHz stock Intel 45nm Quad will be faster than AMDs 3.2GHz X4 955.

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3551&p=14

X2 720 is gr8 VFM, but after overclocking, @ stock 2.8 its bottleneck for UR GTX 260.

U can see 25-30% performance differance when Q9650 stock was compared against X3 720 stock.

As U can see from charts UR E8500 is not slow @ all, both r same in all games, move to X3 720 is not worth it if U aint gonna overclock.

^ + 1, @ OP -- U wont feel differance in Penryn 3.16 and X3 2.8Ghz, so much trouble for no boost. U should sell E8500 @ 8.2k~ and buy Q9650 atleast.

PS : X3 720 is gr8 VFM when overclocked.

I do agree with what most members here told you.... You should not get X3 720 unless you want to OC the setup... Not worth spending so much cash when you have a nice mobo & can get that Intel Quad...

Ok ill either stick to my current Intel setup with new Intel Quad along with 260 216sp or else will get Phenom 2 920(how good this is compared to E8500) ?

Also would like to know which one would be better Samsung 2233 LCD or LG W2243.these are the only two 22" Lcd monitor available at my place no Benq etc,so need suggestion at the same time will 260 216 enough for Full hd resolution for gaming and other stuff?

thanks

^ yes 260 will be enough, go w/ Samsung. Check both before buying ? Try to fit Dell 2209WA 22" eIPS panel in budget. Like every1 said U have nice setup already keep UR Intel setup, Q9400 competes against X4 940, it costs 11k~, small investment for U from current E8500 ;)
