having played it on the 360, this game certainly doesnt deserve a rating of 9, more like 7 or 6.5 at best

the handling is all screwed up, its neither arcadish nor sim realistic, kind of an awkward balance in between which will annoy you quite a bit, even when you get perfect launch the acceleration is sad, plus the grip just isint there, when you turn the back steps out for no reason, even for AWD cars plus because of the speed or rather the sensation of it, its very very difficult to drive fast and not get frustrated plus lack of story mode as well, each level is like a lame event, so its more like a check list of events and game modes that you can play

its not a bad game, but certainly aint mind blowing either, atleast on the 360

anyone else who has played the game and agree's or disagree's?

Did EA paid for those reviews... :ashamed:
You know I was thinking about the same thing. I could have agreed a 9 rating for GriD, but this game getting a 9 from Game Trailers, there's something fishy. Anyway I guess everyone has their own opinion. :)

just another sad game from EA... RIP street racing :(

Seems just modification of pro sh!t...nothing to gaga about after the hyped that surrounded it.And i wonder how many people play with that view from inside about which EA is boasting :/

i could sense that while reading the IGN review.

well thing is its not that bad of a game, but is certainly aint that good

i guess am most disappointed by the handling than anything else plus no music while in menus, or heck not even while driving by default, i guess the developers got confused between making it a sim that'll go down with the arcade crowd

After a while u get the hang of driving it but driving a very fast car like a veyron in a circuit like the nurburgring is incredibly difficult

and dont know why EA is going so hyped up about the cockpit textures, ive certainly seen better ones, imo PGR2's were as good if not better and GTR2 still is in the league of its own here

I suppose it wudnt have been that bad had they incorporated some sort of story mode or atleast some plot in the gameplay

you do realize that the linked story is an insane marketing stunt that has nothing to do with buying reviews right?

but the most important thing with the article is that it shows how desperate EA are trying to revive the NFS series(for their good, of course)......and it rather points to a situation where they might have gone for buying reviews.

Game is awesome, Finally a Good NFS to play after Most Wanted TBH.
Gameplay is Good, Can't really say about storyline.
I have played little and it seems a Good storyline to me

Frame rates are lousy ?
I'm getting 55-60 frames at 1024 res :ashamed:
With 16AF and 8AA :hap5:

NFS Shift Rocks

Downloaded the game today from EA online store and already finished a dozen races. This, no boubt is second only to NFS:MW.

but for those who love sim style racing, this one will be the best NFS ever released.

The graphics are mesmerizing and stunning. Audio too is damn good and am loving playing this game.

no, it really doesn't.

the article has nothing to do with how desperate EA is to revive NFS. and it also doesn't point to a situation where they might buy reviews. in case you still didn't get it, this was a stupid marketing promotion for dante's inferno. they've done other dumb things to promote that game as well. they were not trying to buy any reviews.

also, when corporates try and influence game reviews, they don't send 200$ cheques to individual writers. they go and buy ads on the review websites/magazines, invite them to pre-release press events, parties, exclusive interviews, they give them swag and things like that.

So what is the final verdict on this game is it worth the hype that it had created or just another crappy NFS?

Played for a few mins today morning. Pretty lousy gameplay. Frame rates are decent on my GTS 250. Have to get used to the car handling. Pressed ESC to quit. But couldnt find the exit tab. Just switched off my comp and came to work. Will play in the evening to find out if this game is really worth the hype.

LOL atleast this time it is receiving mixed reviews.

To say that some people are actually liking the game :)

So I'd say : NFS :1 Critics 0
