Re: The definitive Ninja Gaiden Σ/Σ2 thread!

They claimed the first and the second both were 1080p @60fps. Not sure how much of it is actually true, but the game does look very sharp. But who cares about that anyway? As long as the game is rid of glitches and frame drops, we shouldn't even be looking at the resolution.

I remember a particular level in NG2 on the 360 which dropped the frame rates to almost single digit. Wonder if the same would happen on the PS3? I'm not sure if I posted it in this thread, but I had updated it on Digit forum. Watch out for the Eclipse Scythe, the most powerful weapon in the entire game. Too bad we get it very late. I played the game till the 3 chapter and it's dead easy on the PS3. The 360 version was unforgiving on the same difficulty.

Re: The definitive Ninja Gaiden Σ/Σ2 thread!

Confirmed the title runs at 1080p. Ran few other titles and they all turned out to be 720p. Completed 3 more chapters and the boss battles seem to be fairly simple compared to NGS 1. Played as Momiji in one of the levels and the six-axis controller definitely helped here! :P The secret treasures such as the skull and the lives of thousand gods are fairly simpler to be found spread across the several levels. Team Ninja should not have messed up with the gore levels in the game. Slicing a limb, head or the torso reveals a purple'ish part - WTH! :|

Got to be a lengthy game - the last title had 18 chapter IIRC. Got a wedding reception of a colleague this Saturday so I guess I won't be completing the title by the weekend. Thought of starting Red Dead Redemption after this one.

Re: The definitive Ninja Gaiden Σ/Σ2 thread!

Boy oh boy! Ninja Gaiden 3 cometh! :ohyeah:

Completed Ch. 10 day before yest. Was staying back in the company until midnight yest - couldn't play anything as a result. :'(

Got loads of weapons including the Eclipse Scythe and Enma's Fang but that one seemed to take a lot of time to execute a combo and as a result the AI can easily interrupt the combo. Using the lunar staff and the vigoorian flail ATM. Upgraded all the weapons to level 2. Boss battles have become a joke now - all apes and dragons keep spawning out of nowhere and the lack of gore and blood makes it less interesting. Not to mention with a couple of health grains, it is fairly easy to bring them down.

Re: The definitive Ninja Gaiden Σ/Σ2 thread!

It's piss easy on the PS3. I was just mashing my way through the bosses. The rest of the fiends were absolutely panzy. In the 360 version, you'd probably get ripped from head to toe with the overwhelming amount of enemies on the Path of Warrior difficulty.

If they even think of reducing the gore or replacing it with that blue shit, I swear, I'll personally hire a Ninja to show Team Ninja how it's done. With Tomonobu Itagaki gone, I'm not sure how NG3 would sum up.

Re: The definitive Ninja Gaiden Σ/Σ2 thread!

^Yeah I am kinda skeptical about the third title without the main guy. With him gone, I hope Team Ninja doesn't screw up the good franchise. Reducing gore for NGS 2 TBH was not in good taste.

Completed the title yesterday. All the major bosses/fiends made a comeback lah! Relied entirely on the staff and the flail towards the later stage. Despite the dragon sword being upgraded to lvl. 4 and clubbed with the blade of the archfiend, I found the staff to be quicker than this combo. The last boss was way too easy. I recall the finale of NGS 1 and still gives me the chills. :fear:

Eagerly waiting for the third title.

*sore fingers*

Worth playing in 2012? Why not?

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a bit tough, but Sigma 2 seemed much easier, compared to NG2. Time your moves and counter-attacks. Block is another important aspect. If everything else fails, switch to the lowest difficulty.

Good, then i'll probably be completing it in April. And i play all games on easy only
<
lol

Also, i'd directly be playing sigma 2. Not 1.
