Its about time to put some facts about this phone somewhere. So I am creating this thread. Others are welcomed to put in their own inputs and first hand experience. As I do not have time to write a detailed review, I am taking this route.

Online reviews are full of how GOOD business phone it is. I will get to that. But first let me start off with 1 bad thing that everyone is quick to point out about this phone.

The camera!!!!

I have seen some horrid pics taken from camera of this phone online on other forums and reviews.

But I am gonna post few of my own. Being a business phone, this is the weakest link of this phone for sure.

All the pics were taken here were in AUTO mode. Nothing was touched in camera settings.
Only autofocus was activated by pressing T key. Many people simply dont read the manual :P and unlike most other phones with half key press autofocus function, E71 uses T key as autofocus key ( thanks to lack of dedicated camera button ).
Once you discover this key, the pics turned out to be pretty ok in terms of quality. good enough for viewing on phone or PC. The outside pic is taken just a while back at 6PM under overcast condition, so light was poor.



All these pics are default images taken directly from camera. No image has been edited in any way.

GPS, GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, Battery, Screen, Keypad impressions to follow.

Ive done that...i know what firmware my phone is currently using..and whats the latest one..

but i cannot update..

have tried both ovi store and nokia software updater..

the server is always unavailable..

have been trying it for months..

no success..

Just bought an E71 , killer looks but i am extremly dissapointed by the camera . Not a fan of the touch screen so chose this over the C6 . The images taken by the 5233 look way better than that E71, am i doing something wrong ( I am using the 't' ) ? The ep 630 works OK with a converter , there's an annoying hiss :/ .
 
Needed some help regarding apps and tweaks on E71.

Is it possible to download a map and use it for navigation on E71. The usage of the map should be without the use of EDGE/GPRS data ? If so how?

Yeah, do you have 3.0 ? Check in settings and set it to offline mode

Done with this. Now how do i load maps for different cities ?

Any good free Twitter app other than Tweets60 ?
 
Facing some problems with E71 recently. I have deleted the Tiger Woods and Tetris (default) games. Once i reboot the handset, these 2 games show up in the Installations folder. Dont know why? :S
Also, the MailForExchange app gets stuck and doesnt open up due to this or may be some other reason, but this app gets stuck only after these 2 games show up again.
I have hard resetted the phone numerous times, but still the problem persists.
What to do here? Is it a memory card virus or something? If i format my memory card, how do i get the default factory files back?

Any help appreciated. TIA.
