Check out Anna in action on
GSMArena. Although it brings nice many changes, I think it's lacking some of that 'oh-so-smooth-ness' made famous by a certain iDevice.
So I don't mind Belle being a cosmetic update if it brings that to S^3.
Now add some new products priced aggressively and devoid of pointless limitation like EDoF, and I'll finally update my aging E63 in a heartbeat!
Here's what I think can be the 'formula' -
* Nokia has made it clear that it's USP to stand out will be 'Optics'
* Keep the techy stuffs like CPU,GPU,RAM,ROM obscured. Well they already score in that front with the mighty BCM chip and very well optimized OS, so keep that uniform among all products (mid to high range)
* Create a varied lineup based on MegaPixels, form factor (screen size, lack of ports, the 'slim' trick etc) and lack of 'extra' features (HDMI, accessories, flash etc)
* Just to prove a point, some 'GigaHertz' products won't hurt either! (the upcoming Zeta is an example)
* Some stripped down versions for the sub 10k smartphone market.
This 'formula' will create an influx of S^3 devices which will compete aggressively with the FOTM android. Nokia still needs a lot of 'Up talk' to convince people that its still a very capable 'ecosystem' and that android is not the smartphone panacea its made out to be.
