Good news. Many people were saying on other forums that Symbian is a dead platform... Now they have their answer to it.

Missed it since i just searched for the threads. Anyways i guess a seperate thread will gain more visibility and since its above Symbian platform!
yup, this topic deserves a separate thread as symbian was getting a lot of negative press in recent times due to nokia-microsoft partnership,i posted it there as that thread is the unofficial symbian^3 thread :)

Yeah. I dont understand why! Except the sub-par UI the Nokia C6-01 for example is best in class in the sub ~14-15k price range!
It has got the best screen, camera, video recording, video play back etc in its class! App support is also decent. Hopefully with the 'Anna' update it gets better.
Its just the android craze and people opt for very poor phone like Samsung Ace instead of C6-01 even if mulimedia is their primary need!
Android is good but its true power is unleased only starting from a phone like Defy and upwards. I feel its sort of crippled in the sub-15k phones!

couldn't agree with you more, exactly said.

One is these Symbian devices and other Sammy Wave. Fantabulous devices at their prices.

^^exactly and the fact that the sub par UI of symbian^3 will be completely revamped by the PR3.0(belle) update and apps, services support atleast till 2016 along with the better out of the box experience when compared to ios,WP7 makes symbian a very good option in the smartphone market.

This will shut some of the anti-Symbian fanbois in the forum who whines when Nokia releases a Symbian device.

Nokia takes a solid stand indeed!

I disagree because Optimus and XCD 35 are much better phones in 10k range C5-03 or any other phone in that range can't even come close to it

and i feel a phone without apps is just lifeless
Which phone you have ? Android ? O1 ?? Tell me how many apps you have installed and out of them are useful ??

Can the O1 P500 or XCD 35 or Wildfire S record or play 720p videos? Do they have a good screen? Do they have good audio quality? AFAIK they have piss poor audio :P

Different platforms needs different amount of RAM and AFIAK Symbian is one of the most optimized OS in the market!

C6-01 also has most famous games and Applications that gets the job done and the best multimedia in the sub 14k category. Its multimedia features are on par with the WaveII that costs 2k more and it has many apps too which the BADA lacks.

P.S: I am not a Android hater or S3 lover. Just dishing out facts here.

like this part

I think S^3 is more than enough for 90% of phone users out there, only the tweaky, itchy, b**chy, and horny(about phones) 10% require(or desire) android OS phones. True a million fart apps isn't much compared to 10,000 great apps.

And the fact that Nokia will continue on S^3 till 2016 is a very good sign faith in their symbian handsets and good news for symbian^3 phone owners too

I was blown away when I used N8's camera. Nokia took a camera and put the sim card slot = N8 :hap5:
