I would rate the nokia higher since it has the S40 running on it. You need a memory card to store substantial amount of songs. Get a 4GB for ~Rs.150 or 8GB for ~Rs.240 or so and you are set. They dont bundle a microSD card with the phone.

You dont need any software for songs. Just select mass storage when connecting with the system and the the memory card like a pendrive. Just drag and drop works fine.

The phone doesnt come with a data cable. Standard micro USB cable works fine and OEM ones are available in ebay from Rs.80 onwards (including shipping)
Else you can also get a microSD card reader and transfer the songs to the micro SD.

I have a friend who uses the X2-02 for the last ~8 months with no issues and there are extensive expert review too. Check the link I gave you. The C3322 is also pretty decent too and you also get a microSD card free to get you started for a similar price. But cant give much insights regarding the C3322. You will have to just depend on the user reviews in flipkart as there are no expert reviews for it.

Sir, How about Micromax phones or something from other smaller brands. I am using Micromax X274, it is cheap one but is working fine. For him, how about Nokia C2.

I am no sir. :) I would rather stick to Nokia/Samsung for the low end. Seen few of my friends MMX fail in a year or so. Also he has the budget for a Nokia. Then why not spend the extra Rs.200 and get one.

You also get standard accessories easily for Nokia than MMX. The Nokia C2 is currently out of stock in many places. If he wants a cheaper one then the options are Nokia 110/112 or Samsung E2232/E2252.

But the X2-02 has a much nicer display and a lot of features the above 4 phones lack.

@DarkAngel , I was in the same dilemma last week as that of the OP but settled for C3322. Reasons:

1.X2-02 although Nokia, is having some serious firmware related issues (hanging, inaccessible call records, msg not delivered etc.) But yes, these are not my opinions but from what all research i did before buying.

2.C3322 is having far better build quality (metallic), more internal memory and a fantastic screen alongwith battery life. These i can vouch for as now i've used the device.

3.Slightly cheaper. Got it for Rs.3000/- from Infibeam.

4.Samsung offers a much better dual-sim settings in comparison to Nokia. sort of pioneers in the dual-sim devices.

But Nokia scores highly in terms of reliability, after-sales support, dirt cheap compatible spares and durability of handsets. Its just like the Maruti brand in cellphone market.

This is my first Samsung device so can't say about the after sales support right now

Would appreciate if you could throw some light on my decision .. would help the OP in his purchase.

@bbthumbhelaer - Nokia has better software suite too. There nokia suite is better than the KIES.
The S40 appstore is pretty decent but Samsung also has started their own appstore. Not sure how good they are.
And check that review. The X2-02 too has excellent screen according to gsmarena for a device of its class.

Yup my friend too face message not delivered couple of times. I thought it was a operator related issue!

I bought the C3322 for my dad a few months back. It's a solid phone. Has a good battery back up, good call clarity and decent music clarity for the budget. I'd highly recommend it.

However, after looking at the Nokia X2-02 I must say that you can't go wrong with either phone. Like Darkangel said, stay away from Micromax, Karbonn etc as their budget models have poor build quality.

Hope, i'm not too late to join in! After getting reports from many quarters that all problems in the X2-02 has been sorted out in the latest 11.79 f/w, i hope i will be getting one for me,(mayb today) as a backup daily rough use 2nd phone for my SGS2 . I have been keeping a close watch on it,hope it will NOT disappoint !

what were the issues present earlier?

Finally bought the X2-02 (Dark Silver) .Looks fantastic, Built looks decent/good enough...Screen real nice & clear,...sound loud & good,...feels great at hand (the form factor is great, grip is nice,..finger touches the buttons at the right points)...Photo is also good ....& battery i think is amazing !(been at half charge while buying, after going through playing music(about an hour including fm radio), sending & receiving 10-12 sms, calling & receiving 4-5 calls, playing games about 1/2 hr,, the battery still holds good at half charge after approx 12 hrs of purchase.(still have NOT charged).//my android sgs2 would be atleast 20-30% down//. Not fiddled with other settings including the very unique feature of Fm transmitter, coz i didn't have much time, for tomorrow i am going for a 15 day festive trip & i'm actually in that preparation mode//purchase of the phone itself being part reason of that/.

*NO trouble so far & i honestly think,on first impression this should stand itself as a great 2nd phone or a very good vfm phone(for single phone owners)!

F/w oob is 11.79
