PC Peripherals Nostalgia, what was your first build??

Props to some of you for keeping such an old photos. My first personal build was an i3-3220, 8GB RAM and a Radeon 7770. Fairly recent compared to others and yet I don't have a photo of it anymore.

Here is my oldest Photo worthy pic. Manually cut the side of the case to make a window. Window cases were uncommon or unaffordable back then. I had uploaded it to 'Metkumods' if anyone remembers that.

What lights are those, may i ask? they look like neon lights? They look great! No idea these existed, where might one find them?
 
My first rig when I was in 4th std. My dad got this as a gift from his company.
Specs:
Intel celeron 1.33Ghz single core
512MB DDR1 RAM ( from which 64MB was shared to graphics :( )
80GB PATA hard drive

I still remember my dad spent 3.5k to increase the hard drive from 40GB to 80GB

The impressive part is, it's still functional. It's power supply got damaged but I tried with other one and it did start. Windows XP rocks.

That's an Intel D201GLY, code-named 'Little Valley' with a Celeron 215 processor based on the SIS662 chipset. It's an iconic milestone in computing history! It's Intel's very first Mini-ITX form factor motherboard. More so since Mini-ITX wasn't an Intel standard, it was championed by VIA at the time and to witness Intel make their own Mini-ITX motherboard was a really big deal. It validated the form factor despite Intel's attempts to downplay their entry — they deemed their own chipset to be far too premium for the form factor, so they chose a third party chipset instead for this board and it's successor.

I have fond memories of it's successor that arrvied six months later, the D201GLY2, which I used for a few years as a firewall. It was clocked lower at 1.2GHz but fanless. I blinged it out with pure copper heatsinks:

Intel core2quad Q6600 rig 12 years ago. So many good memories.

They are called Cold Cathode Tubes, the RGB of the past. But the lighting provided by UV coloured tubes (as in the pic) are unmatched. I don't think you get them anymore I suppose. I have a blue tube for sale here

Wow, the heatsinks are to die for. Which brand sold such marvels?

Nexus was popular back in the day with their innovation. I think Zalman use to copy them. Not remembering much though.

CCT as they used to be known was the real bling before all the fan rgb took over.

Looking at this thread some times i get nostalgic, i am putting my first build .....do you remember yours??

My first build was in 2006, here is was the configuration

CPU: Q9550 E0 stepping (people from my time will remember how important E0 stepping was)
Cooler: thermaltake.Contac Silent 12
Mobo: Abit IP 35 Pro (too bad the company went defunct )
OCZ DDR RAM 2x4 = 8GB
GPU: HD7770
PSU: HX 650
Case : Chieftech BM-25B-OP (imported from then famous @kathmandudude )

MY last build was 4~5 years ago because office so no more builds

CPU: i7 7590
Cooler: CM 212X
Mobo: PowerX 81 MS
RAM: DDR 3 x 2 = 16 GB
GPU: 1660 1 click OC
PSU: 550W Bronze +
Case : Some circle Full tower Cabinet

Ah, sweet nostalgia. I used to play NFS Most Wanted 2005, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, Prince of Persia Two Thrones, Halo 1

Should be near 2006-07 era.

My first build was

CPU: Intel Atom (got upgraded to pentium G630)
RAM: DDR2 2GB (upgraded to DDR3 4GB with the CPU)
GPU: Dedicated

I used to play GTA Games alot back then.

Then I moved into gaming laptops. Now, I am back to desktop for gaming.

GPU: RX6650 XT
RAM: 32GB
