Exactly, when gaming if dlss is on or off there is very minimal difference mostly not noticeable unless you keep looking at the screen to find flaws and not actually play the game.TBH I don't understand the obsession with raw performance. What matters is the output quality (frame rates, frame pacing, latency and visuals). If all of that is better then how does it matter if the frames are being rendered "artificially"?
We are already approaching the shrinking limits of the transistors - in order to get more performance there will of course have to be focus on other aspects of the rendering pipeline.
The thing with artificial ai generated frames is that they increase the latency noticeably which was a big deal for many. With the new gen reflex 2 nvidia claims that the latency is reduced but lets wait for third party reviews. Their claim of 5070 performing similar to 4090 is with multi frame gen and in specific scenarios so i wouldnt trust their benchmarks.TBH I don't understand the obsession with raw performance. 1. We need some min no of fps else it feels bad. FG wont do much there. Wont be an issue on 5090, but will be for most others ( esp with Max RT).TBH I don't understand the obsession with raw performance. The thing to understand is how the frames are generated to begin with. Frame generation uses interpolation, which is a fancy way of saying "guessing". Interpolation in any form reduces quality of the rendered frame. A frame generated by the game engine is significantly different from the frame generated by the driver, hence it always looks worse and because the driver has no way to respond to game input, you get fairly severe lag.how does it matter if the frames are being rendered "artificially"?
That sadly seems to be the case. Wait for the ProArt and MSI Expert design to show-up. Galax White one looks decent as well for the 5070ti. This time the FE looks dull and repetitive; Maybe the node change will bring a fresh design.I have been looking at some of the 5090 designs.. and wow most of them look hideous.. why cant these companies make a sleek looking card like the FE? 2000$ card with RGB's and stupid graphics. Especially Zotac: https://www.zotac.com/in/product/graphics_card/zotac-gaming-geforce-rtx-5090-solid-oc
so far only the Gigabyte Aero is looking like a decent card.
I'm trying to find a sleek looking 5090 which is nearby the 2000 MSRP, dont want to pay ridiculous amounts of money just for the cooler design. If somebody finds a decent looking model.. please do share. Hopeing to buy one.
I looks like same story all over again (3070 vs 2080 Ti). The claims are never true though.Keen to see this 5070 vs 4090 matchup
3070 was a decent bump though, these were close, but card is limited by vram. 30 series without inflated covid price was good ( minus vram ).I looks like same story all over again (3070 vs 2080 Ti). The claims are never true though.
So 40 series was good in a way, If i tell you my 4070ti does 4k 60fps on black myth wukong while consuming 150-160w i dont think 30 series can do that, If the 5070 is even close to 80-90% of a 4090 minus ai workloads it will be good for budget gaming community(Yeah Budget is 60k now ) Vram is lack lusture we can all agree on, 5070 cannot do 4k for very long time but will be a very good choice for 1440p hi-fps gaming. For people like me who do single player gaming strictly anything doing 60fps natively or with dlss should be fine.3070 was a decent bump though limited by vram. 30 series without inflated price was good ( minus vram ).
40 was shit, 50 looks decent if it gives 25-30% bump ( in raw perf) that some are saying but again vram is not enough so better to wait for possible 18gb/24gb in refresh next year.
5070 very likely will not even get close to 4090, for a moment i thought wow, but then realized it was faulty DLSS comparisons.
These people are pathological liars, they could have simply said 30% ( assuming ) and many would have been happy with that.
In value it was bad, they increased prices. Otherwise 4070ti super, with 16gb, isn't too bad. vram is not too bad considering its in 70 tier and should be enough for new few years, maybe until PS6 shows up.So 40 series was good in a way, If i tell you my 4070ti does 4k 60fps on black myth wukong while consuming 150-160w i dont think 30 series can do that
I play SP only too. 60 is too low for me now once i got used to higher. Visually its not smooth enough and i prefer 90+ or so.For people like me who do single player gaming strictly anything doing 60fps natively or with dlss should be fine.
Tim from Hardware Unboxed went about checking out the 5090s and others in the line up from the three big board partners.I have been looking at some of the 5090 designs.. and wow most of them look hideous.. why cant these companies make a sleek looking card like the FE? 2000$ card with RGB's and stupid graphics.
