News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Is 2x Faster Than 4080 At $999, RTX 5070 Ti 2x Faster Than 4070 Ti At $769, RTX 5070 Faster Than 4090 For $549

The 3060Ti can be had for as low as 15-16k while 3070 goes for around 20k. I've seen some from less reputed brands going for 18-19k only. Waiting out on 4060Ti with warranty would be good. I don't know about the AMD ones though.

Basically,

what should be good appropriate price for a used 4090 now ?
i think it depends on various factors/situations, i will keep it small, always check/ask for condition of card, some thumb rules i see around for current gen gpus, old gen ones in warranty,
1) original box and everything/all accessories of Gpu present and warranty is exhausted i believe 50% should be highest anyone ever should pay and never go above 50% of gpu's current market price. (kyuki next gen aake generally band bajane hee wali hoti hai)
2) original box and everything/all accessories of Gpu present and is in warranty , pay according to remaining warranty years/days (e.g. original warranty 3 years if remaining 2 years then one can chop down price to 66-70%, 1 year remaining 33-50%, one can do similar in terms of remaining days too)
3) no accessories no box and out of warranty, best would be 30-40% of current market value at best

Actually we won't know till the 5000 series actually hits the market. Even if it's to determine the value now it's impossible. Sellers will be having nightmares without a doubt.
The claim of Nvidia that 5070 will give 4090-"like" performance is questionable at best. But low ballers will use that claim to their own advantage. I personally have big doubts about the performance claims of the 5000 series.

Jen-Hsun Huang only did a lot of marketing gimmicks and stunts during the launch. Yes, indeed we won't know what's under the hood in terms raw rasterisation performance unless unbiased reviews are done by reputed 3rd party outlets. That would spill the beans as to much better the new 5000 series is compared to the 4000 series including the Super variants.

AMD overall has decent rasterisation performance in the previous series and they only lacked in Ray Tracing and multiple methods of Frame Generation with/without Artificial Intelligence. They also should not copy Nvidia in terms of pricing in order to get some sort of market share. Unfortunately they did copy the naming scheme already.

One thing is certain, 5080 should be able to beat 4090 in raw performance while costing a lot less. We are already seeing 4090's available for sale.

I think RTX 5080 might end up being slower than 4090 by 10-15% in pure rasterization... Also People trying to sell RTX 4090 for 1 lakh or above might have a difficult time selling one, Unless someone needs that extra vram for some specific use case...

"Also People trying to sell RTX 4090 for 1 lakh or above might have a difficult time selling one" i hope this is true. cuz everywhere i go i dont see any offer below 1.2lakh. except on olx. do you know any legit places where one would be able get 4090 below 1L.

"Unless someone needs that extra vram for some specific use case" the moment it gets more popular everyone is gonna need more vram. like how suddenly phones started giving more ram for Ai reasons the moment it became a feature more common knowledge. also freak u nvidia

Based on historical trends, the 2080 Ti was outperformed by the 3080, and the 3090 Ti was beaten by the 4080. I’ve personally owned the 3070 Ti, 3080 Ti, 3090 Ti, and now the 4080. The 4080 outperforms the 3090 Ti in two key areas: power efficiency and frame rate, with a 5% to 10% increase in frames.

So my money does rests with 5080 being able to beat 4090 both in frames and being more power efficient. Probably in the next 2 weeks, we'll get the complete picture. RTX 5xxx series might have an unfair advantage with DLSS-4 being locked to 5xxx series only or they will castrate RTX 4xxx series (as usual or expected from Greedia).
