For 1440p, 12 GB is plenty (for now). I play at 1440p and have yet to encounter VRAM limitations/stutters with my 3080 10 GB (although I'm on the edge, with some games sitting at 9.5 GB). Games like Indiana Jones are the exception, not the rule (presently, the future will be different, but not very soon). UE5 is an unoptimized mess, as it is.
That's like 10gb 3080 few years back. Even 4k ran fine at 10gb and now we need 16gb.
4k 32 is great for a monitor, big jump from 27 1440p for me.
Witcher 3 next gen crashes a lot with RT - esp Novigrad. Had to use a mod that reduced settings to reduce VRAM usage.
These new gen NVIDIA GPUs usually take a long time to sell at MSRP so I hope you get it by June. Good luck. But I suggest not to keep waiting for the GPU if you have the money and time to play right away. You never know when life changes and you won't get the time to game anymore. Just my two cents.

Odd, I had no such issues (other than the odd crash here and there over 100 hours). With RT maxed out. VRAM was near max, though.

But better value in Nvidia cards will always be with cards that have lower VRAM. I had same issue with 1050 3gb and repeated mistake with 3080. ( Great jump in perf from 1050 to 3080 though
Even 16gb for say 4080 is a bit on lower side since its a 4k card. 1L cards shouldn't have any chance of being compromised due to VRAM, its laughable.
4090 is great, but priced high and has that problem. So we do have good nvidia cards, but not good value ones and any thing below 70tisuper is compromised on vram ..
From 3080, 4070ti super doesn't seem much of an upgrade to bother with. I don't see any price/perf jump with good perf that might make it worth upgrading from 3080.
I could spend more, but just don't feel like it. Id rather play through my older games backlog. HDR >> RT. Even Arkham City looks beautiful with HDR.
yeah my ideal for used - goo condition 2+ years warranty and/or warranty replaced. Dunno, but i still hesitate to buy used.

) . Just have to do due diligence during the buying process, I guess.
I was looking at the same. Prices will be absolute shit for several months. A used 4080 would likely be more worth it. Also, how TF did you manage to snag a 3080 FE in 2020. It was impossible to snag one during that period. Unless you paid a fortune.
