News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Is 2x Faster Than 4080 At $999, RTX 5070 Ti 2x Faster Than 4070 Ti At $769, RTX 5070 Faster Than 4090 For $549

Ray tracing and especially path tracing are such new technologies and so taxing that using them is pretty much reserved for the highest end of cards

Starting searching and playing great games maybe you will stumble upon a gem that feels great to play and is genuinely interesting instead of jumping on the graphics hype train of every other GPU destroying new "quadruple A ultra pro max path tracing ultra AI neural" game that comes out, maybe save it for later.
Reminds me of the OG Crysis which was reserved for future tech. Not even the most powerful GPU of the time (8800 Ultra) could run it maxed out even at 720p. it took quite a while to break the 60 fps barrier (at 1080p) for that game.

Older games have a charm of their own. I'm currently finishing Clive Barker's Undying again, which is a game from 2001.

Everybody is going gaga for Multi frame gen. Do we know that these fake frames also bring the smoothness associated with high frame rate? Or do the games feel smooth only visually but still play like 60 fps game?

It depends on your base frame rate that the card can actually render. For example, if your card can only natively do 30 fps, Frame gen will just show you a higher number, but the latency and smoothness will feel like 30 fps. Frame gen only makes sense if you already have a high base frame rate. That's why they're called fake frames.

People are going gaga because they don't know how frame gen actually works. They think you just get free performance.

FE card is surely fcked up. Look at the temps -

That being said do we even need RT to enjoy games, I mean sure it looks good in some cases and can make a game look more realistic and but do we really want every single game to look the like the same realistic life like simulator, I don't and in the race of chasing this realism what we have lost behind us is art style
I'm with you on this! Great art style always tends to age better than graphics. What seemed cutting edge at one point will look dated and uncanny in the future but good art style will always remain good art style. The reason i picked Indiana Jones as an example is because I was a little afraid that I'll be spending this much money just for it to be unable to run these "next gen" titles. Maybe its irrational, i'm not sure. But since this will be my first pc build, i didn't want to take any chances.

I am, I am! Currently playing Stardew valley and Deep rock galactic, having so much fun at the end of the day!

i really dont like the power consumption of the 50 series card , 40 series seems way more efficient with the amount of power it draws to the performance

That's the thing you don't need to play the "next gen" titles when you have such a major gaming backlog like most people today including myself, stop caring about the FOMO just get what's the best bang for buck you can get.

Exactly.
How many of those are dual slot cards like the FE ?
None all are at least 2.5 or 3 slot cards.

The reason for that is the 50 series is on the same 4nm node as the 40 series so they have to give it more juice to extract more performance out of it, that is also a reason there is not a major performance gain and this also why they focused so heavily on the thermal design of the cooler.

I thought so. Personally, I feel it is a marketing gimmick.

Seeing at 120fps and playing at 30fps. LOL

New games have integrated RT into their default modes. This will be a problem in the future I feel. I didn't mind as long as it was upto the user whether they wanted to enable RT or not. But if the games themselves have RT enabled by default which cannot be turned off through in-game settings, performance will definitely take a hit.

Yes sir and it'll be worse from here probably. I have a younger cousin who wants to play modern AAA games with RT rather than the games I suggest which have a good plot, beautiful visuals and a satisfying ending.
try them out while you have the chance before they vanish just like some other games have already started to
This is why I love GOG <3 Ubisoft is a shithole for what they did to The Crew owners.
Bully for like the 5th time, a game launched in 2006
Wish they made a sequel man :( This game was so good and fun to play. Quite underrated. Many people don't know that Rockstar Games published this.

PREACH! Game optimization is something that needs to be talked about as well. Due to the rush in releasing games and keeping to deadlines, publishers have made it less of a priority to test their games on older hardware and optimize them for it.

Which are those ?
its mostly marketing to avoid saying 3 slot but they might try and pass off the galax 1-click oc model or the msi ventus model model as a 2.5
The Crew owners
I am one of them myself

yeah in today's industry and filled with soft sack media and people getting offended by literally everything this is just not gonna happen, I have lost all hope in that happening

Ek aur buri khabar - RTX 5090 was not a huge performance jump in native 4K as greedia advertized.
The 5070/5070Ti are already out, so I'm unsure if we'll see a Super series for the 5070. However, I’m pretty confident we’ll see the 5080Ti or 5080 Super, as well as the 5090Ti.
