Seems Jensen Huang is an asshole. Thats what the gist of GN’s video.
not really .I got 3060ti FE at MSRP .We do need founders edition cards .They are indeed very good cards at least for Indian market . EVGA needs to understand they are not present in all countries. But with Founders edition card people get assurances that their warranties etc will be covered by nvidia itself

Just watch the video.

I understand the notion that FE cards are generally sold at MSRP in India so they are quite good for Indian buyers during the mining craze and scalpocalypse.

In all other cases, with Nvidia's greater margins on FE cards (as they make the chips) and the ability to sell for far lower without losses over AIBs, and then dictating the market pricing as per their suitability, screwing over AIBs again in the process because they now have to sell at a loss, is just bad business.
Apart from this, Nvidia has repeatedly discouraged enthusiast efforts from AIB engineers to innovate, like dual-chip cards, increased VRAM buffers so in the end the customer is in fact at a loss, because we miss out on such innovations.
These innovations aren't just for enthusiasts. If EVGA can make more margins on their innovative crazy products, they will discount their close-to-MSRP lineup to push volumes because they can make up for it at the top end.

Joke of the year :P

Hiding the chip prices from AIB partners until Jensen releases them on stage can be the worst thing, it's one of the 101 Ways to Screw Up Your Business.

Not just chip prices (how much the actual GPU die etc costs) but also how much the graphic card is going to be sold for, was also determined by Nvidia hours or even minutes before launch, and communicated directly on stage itself.

Imagine you're an AIB with no clue how much margins you're going to make at list price (go to hell when Nvidia decides it's time to discount).

From what I have read, at list prices, overall margins on GPUs can be as low as 2% for AIBs like EVGA for some SKUs.

And it's not like Nvidia will give full discounts/refunds/rebates for chips already received by AIBs which they now have to sell at losses once pricing is revised.

Yes, as well as:
-Not giving them drivers prior to launch (the press gets drivers before the AIB)
-Price caps making those massive heatsink / ultra oc'ed cards unprofitable

Whats surprising is that they're not switching to amd or intel. This might indicate that the problems they faced with nvidia might be present across the industry.
edit: I just realized, not partnering with amd/intel could just be part of some non-compete clause.

Also might indicate that they want the message to be clear. This is not just a financial decision, they aren't branching out or anything, or haven't just found other ways to make money.

It's about respect and how they get treated by Nvidia.

I thought I saw people being dumb enough but this eth pos is showing how much more dumb they are.
Some are putting it in God to fix the mining. Like how the f God will come and fix mining. I think they are in first stage of grief, which is denial.
They will be good case study for my psychology project. Lol

Other are still asking to get in mining and last one saying they are going bankrupt cos they bought everything by taking loans. Just imagine how bad is their sense of handling money.

These are the people who make money, even if its cause of their luck and not any good business sense.

When you think properly you'll keep your money in FD and never take loans lmao.

We're already seeing mining GPUs in FS section now. Even if seller is denying or making claims such as only tested for mining for a little time or some other BS but I hope here buyers are not fool enough to believe those claims as the condition of the card speaks for itself. As I said earlier bulk GPU buyers have no time or care for many cards they bought for mining rigs as if they clean each and every card then it'll take a lot of time and their profits will decline hence we're seeing dusty GPUs in FS section now.

Some are even being tested in normal PC case for a pic but using PSUs from outside the case (high wattage PSU). Buyers should do their due diligence with these and warranty would be an issue for the ones which have more than one card in bills.

If the gpu is under warranty buyer can buy it and get rmaed and use the newly received card or ask the seller to rma it for him and seal the deal!
