Graphic Cards nVidia to stop producing GTX280?

Went to the market in New delhi today..
Asked for the price of the GTX280 , but all i got was that you will be getting the old stock as nVidia has stopped producing the GTX280's and older versions of GTX260's and have have started off with GTX260 216 , GTX285 and GTX295..
So means no more of the GTX280's now? Rumor or true? :huh:
 
whats the problem with old stock?

and you cant rely on local sources / local stores..they can say whatever they want when they dont have stuff in stock and want you to buy stuff which they havein stock . Google it to find the true story lolz

I knew you would post that , that's why i asked at more than 3 major stores.. and it actually makes sense koz it was you who explained that GTX280 Performs better than GTX285.. so basically that was the reason they stopped producing it.. and even people who had it in stock warned before buying.. so they obviously can't be lying can they..
 
lol i was wrong, gtx280 doesnt perform better than gtx285 , gtx285 is like just 5-10 % faster than gtx280 SSC......i was just asking you..what is the problem if you buy old stock with warranty...
 
285 sells for 400 $? lol..thats ridiculous..if ur statement is actually true..ppl wud still prefer a hd4850x2 2gb in that case

Anyway , few people had it but yeah they want people to spend a little more and buy 285's and 295's don't they. I think this might be true , also because of so much price drops both on newegg and amazon :S
 
lol im sure nvidia wont be stupid enough to remove gtx280 @ 315$ and make gtx285 price at 400 $ .coz if they remove it , HD4850x2 1gb and 2gb versions will own the 300- 400 $ market scene

European pricing and ZipZoomfly seem to suggest that. Newegg listing remaining, however.
