Nvme ssd went into read only mode write protected

I purchased silicon power ud80 from Amazon in April....very less used
Now the disk is showing as read only mode...write protected not sure why

Unable to fix it thru disk part commands

Have found some bad sectors on nvme ssd

What to do....drive has 5 years warranty

RMA it :brb:

See if the drive manufacturer have a utility software. try to format it after a backup. if it works then ok else RMA it.

This is a controller issue mostly. Have seen in past with siliconmotion controllers.

If under warranty, please RMA.

If not possible to RMA due to any reasons, try to do a power reset on the device - basically switching ON the PC and then directly powering it off, without anything else connected like barebones. This may force the controller out of this state.

Silicon power has a ssd utility software, give it a try.
If doesnt workout, RMA it immediately.

I have given drive for rma....silicon power said they will provide new nvme....waiting for replacement drive....so far it went smooth
