First.. Congrats!! Event tho I believe that step by step things are better. You did go xtreme and also have a nice chip as far as I remember from our talk. But 46.5K man... don't you think you should have tweaked it a bit more ;)
 
thanks harshal, wudnt have been possible without your pot, i deeply believe in tweaks for better results and wud have certainly done them, but we got this result within the first 10 minutes of the run(since i had already done testing on the ram and the board) but after that we started having extensive problems with cold boot bug and likes and ended up with a dead QX9650, hopefully I am able to RMA it though its an OEM chip. I didnt understand "But 46.5K man" is this the price of the QX you talking bout????

@Supra, man in the end it was a disappointing session with only 10 minutes of successful boot. though there are a few pics with Shatter who was with me during the whole 2 days trying to make the QX work, :)

And did the chip fail cos of the cold boot???
 
no no how would cold boot coz the chip to die???? maybe it was wrong mounting or something, my temp probe was not working, bios was not going beyond 0C and coretemp was not working, the only thing that looks probable is improper mounting, since the orginal front plate of the pot was broken hence was doing the run with a temp. mounting plate coz of which it might have been possible that either one of the cores was not covered or the contact between the pot and the chip was not firm hence heat transfer was not taking place immediately, not sure though
 
^^^And wats d 46k thing harshal reffering abt?? If tats d OEM was tat around 23k odd???

@ Banik and roxing gannnu, 46.5K is the PR of Pi run. But then I thought you already knew about this from others who claim to share their knowledge. May be its time to do some quick reading guys :D

or is it PP of the Pi run????? You sure got me reading, :eek:hyeah: , as i said it was within the first 10 minutes with all windows services running, all devices running and even explorer running.

Not a optimized run, had the other 3 cores disabled, but it dint make a difference with the temps and voltage.
