Overclocking e4300 onAsus P5ne SLI motherboard beyond 2.2 Ghz

oh!! i forgot to add it in my signature, I am using Coolermaster Aquagate R80 CPU cooler with a couple of 120mm chassis fans.
 
Tried both 5-5-5-15 2T and 4-4-4-12 2T timings but prime still gives almost the same results. But now i think the 1M score is just about ok, because with E6600 overclocked till 4.0Ghz people got around 13s, so 18s @ 3.3Ghz is ok it seems.
 
Today after reaching home would try for 3.6 or 3.8 maybe, btw can any1 tell me the warranty policy for these, bought it from CE, will they change it at their end or would they send it back to intel if something goes wrong?
 
Actually now is the territory known to limit most E4300s. 3.2-3.3Ghz seems to be limit of most of E4300s out there.

If you can go more, good. Keep an eye on temps.

Officially you loose warranty the minute you overclock :P

hmmmm...thats bad news that i cannot overclock more :no: but still worth a try, certainly would not keep that high a clock for 24/7 use, actually i asked whether they would send it to intel or not because local service centre would not be able to make out whether it was overclocked or not, but with a burnt chip how would intel know whether it was overclocked or not?, certainly they would have equipments though, dont know what kinda equipment but.
 
Well there are some micro transistor fuses on the chip which intel can check to determine if cpu is thermally damaged due to ocing. but honestly noone does that. It is less headache for them to simply replace the cpu.

And its highly unlikely you will damage the cpu with this much oc unless you push some insane volts through the chip.
 
i just wanted to say thank you to you guys as this is the best forum on this processor and mobo i could find. i have gotten my cpu to run at 3 ghz stable now for 2 days. i was just wondering if you knew how to get it higher as i have read elsewhere that people have gotten it up to 3.4 with no problems. here is the validation. well...so you know now, where to turn to if you get stuck somewhere with your computer....
now if you have read one of my quotes earlier, with vcore on 1.45v, run the FSB on 1450/1465, thats one of the working FSBs as far as i can tell. once thats stable reduce the vcore to the lowest level, which cpu cooler are you using?
 
ok so i just tried those recommended speeds and i could not get it to work. i tried fsb at 1450 and 1465 and ran my voltages up but all with no avail. here is a shot of what got me to 3 ghz.

 
hmmmm....if you want to dare, u can try upping the vcore voltage more, 1.55v is the max volts that intel recommends, btw which memory sticks are you using, and hopefully you are running them unlinked?
 
and as funky has said before....3.3 Ghz is the kinda limit of e4300, though i booted mine till 3.6Ghz but was not able to get into windows.
 
i have crucial balistix ddr 800 oc to 1000 and it looks like i will just have to be happy with 3.0ghz but will try to up the voltage any way and see what i can get
 
nopes...would not boot to windows anything above 1480 and for that too i had to increase vcore volts to 1.5, so i am dropping the idea of overclocking it any further...3.3 Ghz is the most stable i can get...neways thats a 80% overclock so way too happy about it. If you want can throw in some pics for your reference...neways...vcore @ 1.4, FSB @ 1465, running it linked with memory @ 667 Mhz on auto volts. Memory timing 5-5-5-15-2T
 
^^ Congrats on the the 3.3GHz m8, now what are the temps like at load and idle? Assuming that you using stock cooling right?

:-[ , i got to 3.3 about 4-5 days ago, u have asked me bout my cooler for the 3rd time in this thread....temps though posted earlier are around 54-56 C when running orthos blend test alongwith WCG for more than 24 hours, i was just trying to get past 3.3 Ghz which is not being possible and my cooler is in my sig.:hap2:though dont worry, no offence taken...:clap:
