Sorry Saar....yes yes Maldives your option too :P
Beedu Seychelles ka option top class hai. But i dont knw the exact expense that would be incurred. I guess you wont be shopping there much so the 90% expense would be controlled by Flight fares and accomodation. If you bag a good deal on it then u are good to go :P

The trouble with Seychelles is connectivity. There is no direct flight from India and the only connection is from Dubai where there is a mandatory one night for one leg atleast (no further connecting flights for atleast 12 hours). Thats an added expense which makes the overall trip expensive. Seychelles is very beautiful though and if you don;t mind the extra night in Dubai, its worth the trip. Also you might wanna check for flights out of Seychelles as I am not sure if they have daily flights out. AND its is not cheap.

Mauritius is beautiful but Maldives pips them in every way. Be careful of the hotel choice in Maldives though cuz all the resorts are located on individual islands and if you don't like the food/service of your particular resort, you really don't have much choice but to rough it out for the duration of your trip as guess what, YOU ARE ON AN ISLAND :D. The bright side is you'll have the Robinson Crusoe experience without the extra expense associated with a theme holiday :P.

So i and my fiancee had a talk on this and most apt option seems to be Thailand. We are not interested in doing country hopping at all. So it will be only one country..Thailand as of now.

The places that i have read/heard about to visit are(thanks to members here and her friends)

Bangkok

[strike]Pattaya[/strike]

Phuket

Krabi (incl Phi Phi islands)

Anything else ? (i dont know much about Thailand...also we can remove something if not really important)

So how to go about this ???

Pattaya = red light district of the country. So maybe you should avoid that but the beach is good. And Phuket is also nice.

In case you decide to do some shopping for your computer components and accessories, drop in at Pantip Plaza. :P

And beware of those ricks aka tuk-tuks there. They charge exorbitant rates when they see foreigners. So brush your bargaining skillz before you hop into one.

Enquire with Air Asia about the flight rates. Thai visiting visas are cheap.

That would depend slightly on the time of the year and weather. I would suggest Krabi out of all those, esp if going around December.

Rakshith i did tell you get away from Bangkok ,you still wanna go there and that tooo to pattaya ??Remove pattaya from the itenary ASAP.

^^ Hmm...Bangkok wont be like long stay or anything but just because we plan on going to Thailand i thought Bangkok also as a place :ashamed:

Ok so since many people are suggesting against pattaya i will be also of opinion of skipping it. Let me work out more on these things.

First things first, chuck both Phuket and Pattaya out of your itinerary. Krabi is good and if you like a little more activity, you can look at Koh Samui. Both destinations have International Airports and you can get a direct flight through Thai with a stopover at Bangkok. You can even look at Air Asia but then your stop over will be KL as thats Air Asia's hub and I am not sure if they fly to Krabi/Koh Samui. But Air Asia would be cheaper than Thai anyday.

In Krabi, I stayed the The Tubkaak Resort as it was the highest rated resort at that time and it IS quite beautiful. It is a little ways from Ao Nang (the main town) though but you get taxis pretty cheap and can even rent a moped from the hotel on a daily basis. Also, Ao Nang had like 3 good Indian restaurants when I was there so food is not much of an issue.

Koh Samui can give you a lot of options in terms of accommodation and activity as it is a more well known tourist destination. Never been there but heard its quite nice too and plenty of night life (the good kind).

Bangkok, try not to stay in Sukhumvit. I stayed at the Silom Holiday Inn which was quite nice and used generally by Indian Business travelers in the precious gem trade. In case you didn't know, Bangkok is a major precious gems trading center in Asia. But don't buy any for yourself as you'll probably get ripped off :P.

So your trip should look something like this, 6 days Krabi/Koh Samui, 3 days Bangkok, 1 day travel, total 10 days. The trip should not cost you more than 1-1.25L for the both of you with the tickets, best hotels, food, shopping, no expense spared trip.

Lemme know if you require any specific details and I'll try and help you out with those.

@Desecrator

I will get all info about Thailand from my cousin too as he is staying there for last 4 years or so. But not very much in touch.

From India, Air Asia flies only to KL. Select KL as your Source and then you get the other options as destinations. And my advice is keep Bangkok on your itinerary. Trust me your wife is gonna love you for the shopping opportunity you'll give her (if she likes stuff like shoes, bags, clothes etc.). I thought the same as you and kept Bangkok short and once there, kicked myself for doing that. And Bangkok has a lot to offer other than the obvious thing. Their night bazaars and beer gardens are simply amazing fun with live concerts and overall fun factor.

I am in Delhi and you're welcome to bother me anytime. Would be happy to help and Pay it forward. Some one helped me with my trip too :D.

Guys is there any website where i can read person travel experiences of people ?

Also I got in touch with Kesari travels just to ask them and they directed me to their customized holiday company strawberi. They sent me a quote too but that included phuket and pattaya too but since i had sent them this request in morning. I have again requested them for updated packages with Krabi, Bangkok and Koh Samui.

I have also contacted my cousin in Bangkok for the information. Guys can phuket be included or not ?

Ok so it has been almost decided on Thailand and whats more, we will be planning the trip on our own. Will take help of Guptaji here and all you folks too.

Can you guys direct me as to where can i get best airfare rates for december end/january period ?

For hotels i guess asiarooms seems to be a nice site. All payment has to be done before hand ?? :fear:

What all should be deciding factor before hand ? Or for tickets and rooms go through travel agent ?

Places in Thailand not decided yet but it will be Bangkok, Krabi and probably Koh Sumai....anything else to add ?

Also will need information on getting around from One place to another.

Links to websites where ample of information will be present.

Sorry for some many queries. :ashamed:

Check out Thai Air website or get in touch with a few ticketing agents. They should be able to give you some good fares.

All payments for flight and hotel would hv to be done before hand whether you go on your own or through a travel agent. For flights you can go through whoever is giving you the best price. Hotels is totally upto you. I booked through a travel agent even though I did my own research and told the agent which hotels to book. I could have booked them myself as well but the travel agent was giving me roughly the same price and I thought best to oblige him due to the fact that he was an acquaintance.

Places in Thailand not decided yet but it will be Bangkok, Krabi and probably Koh Sumai....anything else to add ?

My suggestion go with either Krabi or Koh Samui as both of them are the same in terms of destination. If you would like a change of pace, try Chiang Mai as its in the rainforests. But I would suggest not to cram too much traveling during your honeymoon. Just keep it simple, plonk yourself down on a single destination for the majority of your honeymoon and enjoy each others company.

Also will need information on getting around from One place to another.

You'll book your flights thru and thru so that should take care of it. Bangkok is all meter taxi nothing else and absolutely no Tuk Tuks. Krabi is private taxi all the way.

@agupta02

Can you me PM me your contact number and ok time for call on weekdays and weekends ? :ashamed:

I cannot personally meet as i am located in Pune/Mumbai.
