Palm Pixi Plus Smartphone (8GB, Wifi) @ Rs 2294

The battery life on my phone is pathetic. It went from 80% to 0 in 7hrs with just gtalk working in background. Also i cant update or install any app, it says "Install failed". Anyone has any idea why?

I had the same issue, it didnt let me connect to wifi and i was using my secondary no which was not covered in the area i was at that time, so i had to wait till i got coverage. I couldn't find a way to do it

For those of you who have trouble or don't have airtel or vodafone sim.
You can metadoctor the os on desktop and reflash the os. Which will let you connect the phone over wifi in the startup and create the palm profile.
Head over to webosnation. Sticky is there. I did the same in the past with pixi and pre3. ;)

Just FYI for potential buyers of this deal:

-3G does not work
-Whatsapp wont work. There is an alternative called MojoWhatsup but for this you will need to upgrade your pixi plus from 1.4.5 to 2.1
2.1 does have some bugs, for which please do your research first.

Few points to note while using a pal pixi for the first time.

a) Make sure you have a sim with data plan enabled: ONLY AIRTEL or VODAFONE
b) Create an hp account when it asks. If it doesnt ask, then reset your phone
C) You can now switch your sim card to any other (in bsnl i think there is some, please search in webosnation for details)

Created an HP account but not able to download a single app from the app catalog.
I keep getting install failed on updating or installing apps. It is downloading and in the end it says install failed.
Was anyone able to download apps? Please guide.
 
Same here... But even if it doesn't support any apps now, I'm Ok.. After all its an old hardware, and I'm loving Web os.

Downloaded preware and webos quick install. Then after installed novacom drivers too.
Now after all these i've kept my mobile in developer mode(type webos20090606, just for those who want to try) and then connected to my lappy through usb by opting charge only mode.
I'm stuck here. My device is not being detected. If i double click on the .exe file of preware, it says no device is detected.

@Soyab0007 ---> Did you succeed in the above process. Anyone else succeeded?

Please post the step by step process or a link for that. Will be helpful for all members here who bought a pixi and stuck like me(may be only me);)

Facing the same issue, tried to format and Reinstall windows 7.. but same thing no device detected..
