unlike before when they could just use their lapdogs in MSM to do so & force feed whatever narrative they wished to however factually incorrect & ridiculously partisan it was.

for eg..

"election coming up.. how to spin this event into something that'll benefit us..lets make this issue communal & project how intolerant India is becoming"

MSM spring into action. other gullible idiots eat what is being spoon fed to them without any critical thinking. objective achieved.

election done. now suddenly overnight there are no such issues. but, wait till next elections.

actually SM has removed the reins from the self appointed few & given it to the common man. now its upto them how to use it

I think you will agree when I say that the reach of social media like FB is far greater than any other means the politicos could use before. Earlier they could only manipulate the weak-minded who would attend their speeches but now they get to play with the minds of everyone.

Yes it is in the hands of public but the thing is that is not the right way to air or discuss political agendas. Because no one cares to verify the information before posting it these days. The proper way is via debates and answering questions which I don't think we will ever see happen.
 
^there is no greater reach than MSM (tv, newspapers). plus people used to/still buy whatever narrative was sold on those medium & trusted them overly. even today there are plenty who will swallow whatever codswallop they sell. its only thanks to internet, SM & independent sources that we now know the truth in many cases is far, far away from what these "respected" journos are peddling

Have you actually seen the MSM? Half the journalists there are big modi fans. Zee TV and India Tv basically run BJP propaganda all day. India Today except for Rajdeep is absolutely pro BJP. NDTV actually predicted a BJP win in Bihar by a huge margin. Times Now just shouts in all directions. What are you even talking about mate? You discredit everything and anything. Only person to believe is Mudiji, right?

I think you didn't get anything he was saying. He was saying the exact same thing that you are saying and hence, in his opinion, Social Media is much better than MSM.

What people account in Syria says is only Russian forces are striking at the ISIS. French are attacking the civilian areas and their strikes have only cut off water supply and current for the civilian population out there.

Where did you even get this anyway? With all the news media whoring for TRP's with clickbait articles I really don't want to trust news carrying one-sided stories like these. I'm sure that Russia, U.S. and many other countries have bombed civilian areas saying it was unavoidable. But IF its true then...well its bad. France in their defence might claim that some terrorists were there in hiding. Doubt that people will know the real truth let alone the news media. War is like a double-edged sword.

^If she doesn't work for any news channel then its probably true. But then again we have no pictorial proof or any information from a first person in the area where it happened.

Further confirming the perception that nato forces aren't serious enough to finish off ISIS, rather they want the removal of assad.
 
I am very sad by my friends, indian, murican and NRIs, do does not care about lives in Syria. They changed their display pic or post that 'they are very sad' when Paris incident happened, but when I asked them why not for Syria, they have no answer. From past two days France been bombing Syria and killing hundreds of innocents. But I don't see Facebook, Amazon etc showing solidarity for Syria.
