PC Gamer Looking to Buy a Console at 20k

Hey guys,

I recently got a 32 inch LCD so I decidded its time I got a console so I can fully utilize it.

Budget: 20K
Need: I know some might crap this thread for this but I am not rich enough to buy every new game that pops up, so I need the console to be moddable.

I hear PS3 is also moddable and a crazy amount of exclusives than xbox 360. I am a BIG fan of Gears of war on the PC. So was hoping I could play that. But KZ3, UC etc kinda offer an exceptional experience from what I read.

So when recommending, pls give me a rundown of the best games in xbox 360 vs PS3

Also am not much of a multiplayer, atleast not yet.

Pls recommend away. I checked similar threads, and that person went for an xbox 360. But I have my own set of requirements and I wanted a thread where I could ask them.
In the end, recommend a console based on,

Moddable, good exclusive without considering mP as an option.

Whatever be the case, you shdnt have openly asked for a console with designs on piracy so blatantly.
 
Yes PS3 is hackable now :D ... u can download the games and enjoy ... :) ...
PS3 got better exclusives and if your not a muliplayer then you can mod it

had the same dilemma...went for the xbox in the end...got a modded arcade for 13.5k...
why?
i absolutely hate the ps3 controller...the xbox controller design is way better imo
i can buy games on dvd easily..or dwnld them...none are more than 7 gb...if u see, ps3 games are always >10gb...
last but not the least, my zune mates perfectly with my xbox :P
 
i played gears 2 on x360

game me head ache and my pinky hurt, consoles are pathetic for fps, especially if you've played pc games (specifically pc fps using mouse + kbd combi)

You can go for the X360 Slim 4GB and mod it (if it's moddable).

It's cheaper and the popular games are all there, plus hell lotta games on LIVE(better than PSN)
 
There is a twist here thogh. If I like console gaming, I might as well buy the 2nd hand PS3 and a modded xbox arcade next month. LOL. I love Gears of war that much.

arcade...the jasper one...i got it from palika bazar in new delhi...costs between 13-14k (modded) depending from shop to shop...go for PAL...not NTSC/J

Gears would crush Alan Wake beneath it's pinky, it's that dam good.

As for the OP's query, I would personally go for a PS3, given the budget in proposition. As for the hack a.k.a CFW for the PS3, well, it can be performed even by brain-dead monkey, it's that simple. As much as Gears of War seems tempting, God of War and a large bunch of other exclusives triumph the Playstation 3 over the 360. Online capabilities on both the console would be a risky affair, considering the fact that you're planning to go down the modding lane, so you're compromised on both ends.
