Just as a side note, can you check detailed health status of your HDD.

It can be that there is some issue while accessing certain files during bootup.

File corruption, bad sectors, etc. need to be checked thoroughly.

Updated Norton Antivirus 2011 may not be final word to ascertain antivirus culpability.

Can you put a linux live CD-ROM and see whether you can login just for the sake of it ?

My computer doesnt have a single virus... did full system scan several times (Norton Internet Security 2011)... My computer doesnt restart when it is in BIOS... My computer only restarts when it is in windows or on the login page...
Okay so sticking in BIOS your PC runs solid . So , this narrows it down to the OS, or the HDD considering your ran MEMTEST.

Running NIS 2011 scan doesn't guarantee that your system is 100% virus free. Try getting into safe mode and create a new account . and then check if it works.

I tried using ubuntu from live USB... My computer didn't even restart once... After the ubuntu OS testing i booted into windows...

then i installed k-lite codec pack... Just to play Blu-Ray Movies... Then in FFDShow i enabled DXVA Hardware Acceleration just to put stress on the gpu... After this when i double clicked on the blu-ray file my computer restarted...

Then i booted again into windows to play the video file... this time the video played but it was not playing very smoothly...

Earlier blu-ray movies used to play smoothly without any hiccups... I also check the idle temp... The GPU was idling at 55C and during movie playback the temp was somewhere around 65C to 70C...

So what do you guys think... Is GPU the culprit?

Please to find you are getting your problem pin pointed, a bit at least...
Last night i did furmark test just to check the GPU stability... My computer didnt restart during this test... GPU temperature was 72C at full load...

I am so fu***** confused... Sometimes my rig passes even the heaviest load tests like LynX, Furmark, Prime95 etc... And sometimes it is not even able to handle Norton's Fullsystem Scan... Today i just directly connected the power cord to the wall power switch just to check that the surge protector i m using is the culprit or not... And i kept the system for scanning just after few minutes my computer restarted...

1. I Have Tested the GPU - Furmark Stability Test Passed

2. I have tested The RAM - Memtest86+ Test Passed

3. RMAed the old motherboard coz i thought that board was having the problem...

4. I have tested the VX550 PSU - In my neighbors Rig

I did everything that i cud have done... now the only thing thats left to do is that i shud check my old gigabyte PSU in my rig... I will borrow it from my neighbor...

It could even be an issue with OS. since the UBUNTU CD never rendered your PC to restart. I'd suggest you try this last.

Swap PSU's and give it a shot.Keep an eye on temps of all components.

This is the second time i have installed windows 7... few days back i had installed vista to troubleshoot this problem... but i had faced the same problem with vista too...

I have Windows 7 Ultimate RTM dvd... theres no problem in the dvd...

Update: Today i booted my pc wid my old gigabyte PSU (Thanks to my neighbour to whom i sold my Giga PSU)... and wid that PSU... my pc worked flawlessly... my computer didnt even restart once... it was working rock stable with dat PSU... guys wat shud i do know... i bought VX550 coz i wanted to buy a new graphic card... but i dont know why it doesn't work in my rig at all... it works in my neighbors rig but it doesnt work in my rig... Shud i buy Seasonic S12II 520w?

If you think it's the VX550 then RMA it . Why buy a brand new one? Or just connect the VX550 to your pC and take the cabby to your neighbors house....if your despo

The first VX550 that i bought from prime was giving me the same problem so i replaced that VX550 and they gave me the VX550 that i am currently having... How many times shud i RMA? I know that even if i RMA this VX550 the problem wont get solved... My motherboard is not supporting VX550... i have to say this... i know that its not a right thing to say... But read the negative issue of corsair TX750: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

after reading them u wud come to know that i am facing the same problem that many people have faced before...

^^ How about you take your whole rig to your friend's place, check it there. If it works there it means problem is with your wiring and nothing wrong with the system.

If it does crash at your friend's place, you have not yet test your HDD. So next try replacing HDD with friend's HDD.

Did you thoroughly test your PC on Gigabye PSU with enough load and found system working OK ?

Then its VX550 issue.

By the way, ensure & double-check there is no earthing issue at all with your system and electric power socket.

Or shorting with motherboard. Insulate m/b well.

If theres any earthing issue than how the Gigabyte PSU doesnt cause the restarting issue... And there is no problem in my hdd...

Yes i did test the system on gigabyte PSU properly... i did some load tests and i even ran the full system scan ... which VX550 was unable to handle... Gigabyte PSU worked flawlessly... Guys i want to ask one question? do yall think that the 4pin EPS connector is not supplying the power properly which i5 750 requires by which the computer restarts randomly?

"A Negative Comment That Ahren Has Posted On Newegg"

Pros: Nice looking. Extremely quiet.

Cons: Power supply is not able to consistently supply power. I couldn't figure out why the system would just randomly reboot. Sometimes it would reboot during post, other times it would stay up long enough to install and/or run an OS, but eventually it would go down again. After re-seating memory, CPU, etc, I tried a power supply from my other computer, and voila... a stable system. Newegg is sending my RMA out.

Also, this was HARD to get into my case (which is spec'd for a standard ATX power supply). The sticker on the side got scraped up during install and removal.

Other Thoughts: This power supply gave me quite a long day. I bought this to install in a Lian Li PC-Q07 for an HTPC system. It was a great price. Higher Capacity than I needed, but decided to give it a shot. Hope the RMA works bettter.

Not all PSUs are same dude, some time back there was noise that some specific make was not compatible with APC sinewave UPS. So do not judge it this way, if it works at your friends place one more possibility eliminated. rest its up to you, you don't think its logical, don't do it.

^^

Any more suggestions?

Update: Yesterday i had installed the newly bought Seasonic S12D 750w in my rig and the system has been running rock stable from yesterday... I think the new PSU has solved the restarting issue...

Thanks guys for ur replies... :)

Hmm.. good to know your problem is solved.

With all the problems with Corsair PSU's, guess my current one is the last one I'll ever get from Corsair.
