PC shuts down exactly @ 10:30PM everyday

I am running XPSP3 with all the updates as the title says the pc shuts down
by itself everyday exactly at 10:30 pm :S.Is this a virus:huh:
 
:fear: there might be a ghost in your PC .Just kidding;)

Did u install any kind of auto shutdown software??

:P Hehehe..... only powerchute software is running no other autoshutdown programs even powerchute only hibernates my pc it does not shutdown .And this shut down happens @ 10:30 PM only:(
 
BIOS may whave th boot/ shutdown timers set.

Also check in Windows Scheduler

Checked windows sheduler its empty i have not sheduled any task.I have a abit ip35 -E in which section is this boot time thing set:huh: cause i dont remember seeing that setting:ashamed:
 
Explore the bios, see if any settings are responsible..

Check task manager , see if any unusual process is running..

Else it may be a virus or something..
 
IF it's not BIOS, a program must be running in your system background that triggers the hibernate.. call it a virus if you want to..
 
Funny ...sorry....format and reinstall windows

and do not install anything for your Ups

and avoid unwanted applications

Install a internet security like KIS or NIS or Avast (don't use downloaded pirated stuffs)
 
LOL..its a strange problem. Have you checked your task manager? Some unwanted programs might be running in background.

The PC is not hibernating it shuts down:(.

I checked everything in my ip35-E bios i could not pin point the settings anyone with the mobo can you please help me here:huh:

I have genuine avira premium security suite not using any kinda pirated security software:hap5:.scanned it in safe mode it found nothing:no:.
I have a lot of movies and documentaries on my drive:(:(

Will check the task manager and google all the services thats running :P.

I will remove powewrchute tomorrow at 10:00 PM to rule out powerchute:cool2:

dude, just change ur time to 10.29 and check if it does it again :bleh::tongue:

sorry made me :lol: like crazy......
 
check ur "event viewer" and see what are the activites that happen before 10:30 , maybe u will get a clue from there
 
Guys i removed avira premium and installed Norton Internet security 2010
and changed the clock to 10:29 PM the pc does not shut down now:clap:.
The event viewer shows nothing happening at that time:).I ran a full scan norton removed all my keygen ,patches automatically:@.
