all monitors have some sort of installation too, did you run that or its running on generic LCD selection?

I notice you are planning to get a discrete GFX - can't you just return this mobo and get another one? begging and pleading will help.

It still works (replacement) .. try - one never knows .. and none of these guys sell sealed boxes most of the time -

well if you bought everything from the same guy - either he replaces the monitor or the mobo -

and did you install the monitor ? or are you using the generic monitor settings?

@aireast she already got the new rig read last post :p

@neetu

does you lcd has dvi-sub right if you budget is 2-4k

try 7600 gs or ari 2600 pro

you need 1440x800 right update lastest driver chiepst from intel website i think

The LCD does have a dvi-sub,but i wanna know whether the problem is with the monitor or not havin the gfx card...i've installed the latest drivers for the monitor and the motherboard including the onboard gfx.plz help its so frustrating never had such trouble before

99% the problem here is with the monitor and not the mobo.

Oh god! now i have to go back to that place?i'm sick of going there...i guess the monitor is conked up because it randomly flickers at that resolution!

I told i didn't buy a gfx card..Don't plan too either...SO why is the flickering occuring?

First things first. I have a vague guess that ur LCD might be near some source of interference (EMI) like a power oultet, UPS, etc. Plz use the full length of the D-Sub cable and may be carry the LCD as far as u can frm any EM interference. May be u can try in another room or so. I had seen such an issue with a friend's Viewsonic. Also I dunno why u didn't u pick up the VG1930wm instead of the VA1912wb when it costs only a few hundred bucks more.

Anyway coming to the point, if u still face the issue....call up Viewsonic Bangalore (RT services) ...since u have bought only a day r two back...if the LCD has an issue they will give u a brand new replacement according to their policy. Also its onsite warranty...so just call up the toll free no & log ur RMA request asap.I am posting a contact no of the service head person named pradeep of RT Services , Bangalore. Use it if required

Mr Pradeep, RT Services, bangalore---9901983866

Also which shop did u end up buying all the stuffs from?

[quote name='neetu']Hi,
This is my first post here(or any forum).I just went through the forum and read 200mph's post on the PC buying guide,Well i got some idea,but it doesn't suit my needs.I need the PC for moderate gaming(Onboard GFX will do),a Core 2 Duo Processor,No UPS,a 19" LCD and a decent set of speakers.I will be buying it by tommo,So plz help me with a good config.Budget is within 35K incl. taxes.
Thanks[/QUOTE
hai neetu,
IF INTEL IS YOUR CHOICE u can go for intel c2d 2.2ghz or 2.66ghz,intel 945gcnl or dg33buc mob,2 number of 1 gb ram coz ram is chepper now its only 800/-rs for 1gb,good gaming cab.within 2000/-range,good smps like cooler master,platinum of zeb.or antec .and go for 8600gt xfx graphic card,and most important for gaming go for vieYwsonic tft with dvi ,2ms responce time tft.160gb hdd,dvdrw,all will cost 33k.

BUT for gaming amd is best,u can go amd 5500+ good asus mob,it will also cost same 33k:hap2:

@Supra
thanks for the advise,the VG1930wm wasn't there and my friend has VA1912wb so i took it.the shop guy told me to get it on monday to check it...but i don't feel like going to that sp road all over again...
About the interference,i doubt it becuse the ups is at the bottom,the speakers although on the top shelf of the monitor,is magnetically shielded.
So the problem is not because of not having the gfx card right?Because the flickering is randomly..

The flickering is random...thats why I told it might be due to EMI...may be due to some power outlet/switch board issue. Check it once at least as I advised before u make a long trip to SP road. Flickering is not due to the onboard GFX of the motherboard...that almost 99% sure. Either the LCD is the culprit or the some EMI is causing it

Hey guys,I'm sorry for not replying,I was held up...The flickering existed for over 2 weeks.But its solved now.
Firstly about the HDD problem,some settings had to be changed @the bios.This fu*cked up mobo works properly with vista,but the settings needs to be changed for xp.
Now about the monitor,the so called engineers at that place couldn't fix it.Viewsonic ppl told there was no problem with the flickering.Then i got an electrician to check for grounding,EMI etc and everything was perfect.Finally the shop guys made me get my entire PC to sp road for the reproduction of the problem,because they didn't have any 19" at stock(Yeah Right!).And to solve the problem,one guy kept tweaking the bios and finally there was no flickering .Best part is he doesn't know what he did!ROFL!
I would like to thank you guys for all the help
