Can any one tell is it worth going for? Can it play 1080p videos smoothly without any lags? Hows it going to be in multitasking?

i am doubtful that this lappy can handle 1080 p.multitasking might be okay if its for browsing and other light applications.

It can playback 1080p files smoothly with the right codecs. ( Have tried it myself, so speaking from experience not "guessing".)
As far as multi tasking is concerned, it depends on what application you will be using. Non resource intensive tasks won't be an issue, just don't expect Core i series like multi tasking performance.
