Please do not suggest an Asus Xonar or Creative Sound Blaster XFi.

Whenever I plug in my earphone or speaker into the sound output port of my laptop, there is frequent disconnection and re-connection i.e it says "A jack has been unplugged" and "You just plugged a device into the audio jack!" continuously. This is a very annoying problem when I am watching a movie or a TV Show as for 5 seconds the sound comes on the earphone and the next 5 seconds it comes over the laptop speaker.

I was searching on eBay for options and saw a lot of cheap options. So my budget is less than Rs.300.

I found one on DVDStoreDelhi(www.theitbazaar.com) - http://www.ebay.in/itm/Enter-USB-2-0-to-3d-Audio-Sound-Card-Adapter-with-Mic-Virtual-5-1-CH-/140999931284

But when I searched for the same on www.theitbazaar.com, I found only this one - http://www.theitbazaar.com/store/ou...page=flypage.tpl&product_id=79&category_id=45

Since it is a branded product(Enter), I want to buy this one. Does anyone here know if i can buy this from the local electronics market at the same price?

Another option that I found is this - http://www.ebay.in/itm/Hexin-USB-So...tput-5-1-Channel-with-Mic-Input-/190858566270

Someone please suggest what I should do

i bought this enter branded thing locally for rs.120.
i used it with my wrt-router and it worked without any problem. i bought it to just do experiments with my router.

the other one i guess must not cost you more than 150 if bought locally.

my enter sound card is lying useless now. if you are in delhi, i can give it to you for a less price.

Thank you for the offer. I am based in Kolkata. So will not be able to use your offer.

What exactly were you trying to do by attaching it to a router?

Bought the Enter USB Sound Card from the local electronics market today.
When I am using an earphone with it, the earphone gets noticeably hot with 2-3 minutes of use. It becomes very uncomfortable to keep the earphone tip in the ear. Seems like the card is supplying too much current.
I used 2 sets of earphones and both became hot within a few minutes of use.

@sunny4691 Can you tell me if your Quantum card shows the same problem. If it works ok, I will buy it online.

I have used earphones with the sound card only once to check the card and the earphones did get hot but I think it became normal when I reduced the sound volume, I am using it with my Desktop PC's 2.1 speakers just for the time being as I will be getting a PCIe sound card next week.

Can you please check with the earphone again?
I had the same thought as you and I reduced the volume to a very low level. I have in ear ear phones and kept the volume to where I could barely hear the music. But even then, the earphones become hot.

Weird thing is, I have been using these soundcards for day to day use since 3 years, this hot thing never happened with me.

(I use steelseries card for gaming)

I checked it again, the earphones were not very hot but warm(still uncomfortable), and the warmness was the same even when the volume was reduced. Get the Steelseries USB soundcard if you plan to use a USB soundcard for a long time.

I did not understand if you meant that you use a Steelseries Siberia everyday or do you use these cheap (less than Rs.300) cards for everyday use.
Steelseries Siberia costs around Rs.1500 and so I expect it to have much better quality electronics inside.

I use normal card for daily use. (cost-99).

Steelseries card only for gaming, purchased last year for 1100.

Can you provide a link to the card which you use daily(Rs.99 one)?

This card seems to use the same chipset as the SteelSeries Siberia - http://www.ebay.in/itm/USB-7-1-Sound-Card-with-MIC-Input-Volume-Control-PC-Lap-/161051448171
It also comes with the same Xear 3D software.
Read some reviews of it on DealXtreme - http://dx.com/p/usb-virtual-7-1-channel-external-sound-card-adapter-59077

@sunny4691 Should I try my luck on this one? Or should I directly buy the Steelseries Siberia?

Mate there's no clear mention in the ebay lsiting that the card uses a C Media chipset which the steelseries one use, but still you may try your luck with this one as the reviews on DX are pretty good.

@sunny4691 Got the card an hour ago. This one has no heating problems at all. Been testing it for well over 30 minutes. Nothing.

One downside of this card is that there is almost no bass. Tested the Enter card and this one with the same earphone and same song. Could feel the drum beats with the Enter card. But on this 7.1 card, it is totally flat.
