HI guys

to day i have searched all over bangalore and Acer 5470g(i5+hd5650) is out of stock..:@

i think Acer has stopped that model due to more number of complaints on screen n gpu issues...

Can any one confim is this model is discontinued.....?? or when the same model will be back in stock..??
 
AFAIK it's been discontinued... Try online.

And the video problems described by most has been solved by the latest catalyst 10.3 drivers.
 
I had a talk with a couple of dealers (Delhi) today and they said it's not being discontinued, infact it is one of the best selling laptops. Moreover, they are not aware of any new models like 5741 (or 5942) being introduced, this is the only model being sold.

The shortage is only because of its high sales.

Btw,can anyone tell me the model/serial no of the model with Core i5, 4GB, 5650 1 GB ?
 
@Adnan87 If you don't install the turbo boost driver then the feature is not active. Just uninstall the driver and you just have a normal dual core HT processor. BTW why would you want to disable it??

Hi all

At last i have decided to with Acer 5740g( when the stock comes mostly 1 week of april) due to gaming..... as can able to play almost all games whith i5 and hd 5650 with 10.3 catalyst drivers....
not going with sony due to i3,reduced clock and not supporting catalyst drivers update will surely effect future games

those who doesnt prefer heavy gaming they can go with Sony....
 
A major con of Sony B16 - no driver/OS CD (and also little expensive comparatively). Apart from that B16 is the clear winner.
 
^ It's the same case with acer as well. So guess it evens out.

And please don't make one line comments. It doesn't help confused people asking for help. If you say something then try to justify it. Things like "this is best means nothing". Why? matters the most.
