Post the latest or upcoming metal releases

^^ One of the best surprises in the Great Indian Rock 2010 line-up was a lesser known band called Purified In Blood, they shook the stage in Bangalore and I feel apart from MESSUGAH had the best stage presence, here are a few samples [and favourites] --

You went for the concert. Hats of, Sire!!

I was in Bangalore but cash crunch [the previous evening I splurged on the G300], reviewed that piece too -- http://www.techenclave.com/topic/510105-logitech-g300-review/. No regrets.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive, have completely lost track of the happenings in the rock/metal scene.

I had not listened to Tool before, but they seem interesting!!

Nice to see that there are people here who are into awesome bands like Wolves in the Throne Room, Agalloch etc.

I wonder if you guys have checked out Flipkart's recently launched mp3 store. They have some really good albums at very low prices. I bought "Wolves in the Throne Room - Diadem of 12 stars" from them for 28 bucks, it's a steal at that price. They've got albums by Immortal, Swallow the Sun, Therion, Amon Amarth, Moonsorrow, Blind Guardian etc for less than 100 bucks.

Now on topic, it's been out for a while now: Dream Theater's latest album - A Dramatic Turn Of Events.

I'm new to metal, apart from Metallica(amazing concert btw) and Slayers I have no idea about where to start.

My personal recommendation is to build upon what you like -->

Audioslave, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Rise Against [alternative, new-metal] --[progress to]> In Flames, Blind Guardian, Eluveitie, Dream Theatre, Radiohead [if you like Indie] --> Agalloch, Ikuinen Kaamos [these are atmospheric metal band] and Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Tool [Progressive rock]

this is not a hard and fast path, but this is more OR less how I started exploring this scene. I even like Indie bands like -- Thirteen Senses, Lounge Piranha. Even enjoy occasional listens to Linkin Park.

hope you journey is wondrous in the Metal scene.

Regards,
