EDIT: just say, 41 is actually lower than 49, no wonder i got these kinda marks....

(though got 36% in my first year )

9/100 in a wierd physics exam during undergrad . I hate physics lol.

I got 96.4% in CBSE 12th 4 years ago..... those were the good days.
Nowadays I consider myself lucky to get 70%!!!

87% here, screwed me in english - 72 , probably a govt. school teacher checked my paper(I always had highest in english throughout my 11th and 12th internals),PCM- 93%,Eco-85%, anyway that was almost 5 years ago.I always wonder though if my life would have been different if I had scored well in English, I had almost become fed up with engg. and was ready to join economics at Stephens , I missed the cut-off by about 1.5% that year though I did get into the Physics Hons at Stephens, which I never joined.

actually i cleared IIITHand din't go there lol actually another friend told me it was not to good and he himself came over at NIT

ahh well no regrets at the end of the day. i won't have got my present job from IT line.

btw kk 70% is std after 12th. 85 is super top anyway(not talking of south colleges.. i hear they getting 95 there in BE :s

hmm south india is crazy... 88% is good in any other part of the globe except here..makes me feel sad...the correction is crappy.. a friend of mine left out 15 marks in his math paper but still managed to get 199/200 :S no such miracles for me... ..there are many ppl with 1150/1200 .. its almost unfair .. on the flip side i console myself by saying i lost only 12% of the marks which is good ..

doesnt seem to satisfy people at home though .. thats the bad part

5 years back could be understood cos it was a really new institution then. But now anyone choosing an NIT over IIITH would really be insane considering the quality of faculty and research work that has been going on since the last few years....

you mean at 12 th level.

well 88 in cbse is good.. in state board i doubt it is.

in maharashtra eg they talk of 100% in state boards. i got 97% in cbse and the state board guys were boasting of their 100% :rofl: only good thing i reckon is that BITs has decided to have a et from now on

yaa but i hardly think college matters. NIT's have got a good rep anyway. At the end of the day if you are good you will go to the best even from a latur college.

Well if all you are looking for is a job, then yeah college doesn't matter but then if you intend to join an MIT or a stan or a UWash, then well ur undergrad institution and who recommends you matters a hell of a lot . As for me... I'm a graphics guy. Doin my phd... not done yet.
