hardly.

or maybe it does then again NIT's aren't held in bad light for that. plus if you are getting into a job which is research oriented it might help you a lot more rather than any college. I have seen people from ISRO/DRDO going top top uni's with solid recco. end of the day, if you want something badly, no one can stop you.

btw graphics guys as in? vlsi or software?

I'd guess Gfx as in the Graphics /Usability combo, essentialy the team that does the logo designs/graphics placement and works in close conjunction with the usability team to design the right man-machine interfaces .....correct me if i am wrong

What you say used to be true once upon a time but these days atleast in the organization that I work in, experience hardly matters. Finally what gets you in is how well your research is cited and who recommended you.

PS: Well you could call what I work on as software but that'll be blasphemy :D. Right now my basic area of interest is Visibility Culling.

hehe...

well again an IIT degree will help but frankly as you said it depends on what you are actually doing in the job. eg my boss(6 years older) is working on stealth class frigates.(related to nanotech) he has an offer from a top defence contactor in US as a research engineer. he in the end stayed back to do things here.

actually it depends on what you wanna do also. some people do a job for going somelwhere else, and some cos they love to do what they do.

anyway sorry for spoiling your 12th class guys threads wih OT :P plz carry on :)

This is my result (12th CBSE).

Physics 91%

Mathematics 89%

Chemistry 84%

Computer Science 95%

English 75%

Its not terribly good but its quite enough for me :P the only disapointment being maths. I just needed 80+ such that I clear the requirement for BITS and other institutions.

Youre kidding right ? Is that a joke ?

Anyways...i scored 71.2 % in gujarat board. Couldnt get admission in a decent engg college anywhere due to my lovely score, was too busy playing computer games with my newly bought computer for the whole year :D :D

No, I really did get 96.4%. No typo. I was a lot more talented back then. I have regressed of late.

Amen to that!!! Got 91% in 10th CBSE. That was the year where I won the English debate in my school and the social seminar and took part in ALL extra curricular activities.

IN PCM in PU(Pre University)(the 11th and 12th equivalent of Karnataka), got Maths --- 64, Physics --- 98 and Chemistry -- 96.

Screwed up my CET rank like anything.... Just got it in my present Engg college....

And since then, have been on a downward slope. 3rd sem seemed ok enough. With all my broken bones and not attending classes for the whole semester, I managed to clear all subjects......

Hope my future is better.....

Well i got 85.2% in my 10th
in 12th i got PCM 91% and PCB 94%

MH-CET i scored 85/150 (corrected marks)...now the most interesting part abt this CET was that it was so badly screwed that every1 and i mean every1 got damm low marks!! and lot of ppl didnt even have the min qualifying marks of 50%....so guess wat happened the qualifyin percentage was lowered for the reserved category students!!(coz otherwise those seats would go empty)

this was mh-cet 2000 (the cet second cet) and after the whole debacle the negative markin was cancelled!! (so that u get higher scores)

SAFIN dude u are a genius ... that much in cbse.. u must be something!!! do u have overgrown grey cells :bleh: anyway great marks :hap2: .. makes me feel like bacteria or something.. ..

my 10th marks were good.. that was before i became intersted in computers and design.. i got 90% with 50/50 in phy 49/50 in chem and 96/100 in math.. god i was a genius then :P

I have always felt that mosr of the guys on TE are really smart.... prblem is many of us simply dont apply our minds..... I can think of quite a few people like that.

Hats off to the guys who can apply themselves to the job at hand and excel!!!

Someone who gets 41% in 12th does not get into an IIM if he really deserves that 41% :P.... *hint hint*

12th is a party for everyone.. but only one problemo .. for most of us STUDIES dont figure in the party :)

lol..... ok..

But I have seen guys do very averagely in 10/12th and then do really well in higher exams .... thought you were one of them :P

Results came out today, 73% on CBSE 12th :( This really sucks compared to 94% in ICSE i got in 10th. But as so many of u guys have said, i didnt take 12th seriously either, was like timepass.

WOW..dont u guys have another work than to get marks like 90-96%..!! and tht too in 12th !!! :S
u ppl r really great!! had my 12th boards this yr..the results r yet to come and i m so darn sure tht they arent gonna match the marks mentioned in this thread!!! ..
had 88% in 10th though which was a pretty much like a shock to me!! :D

My marks were just avg...
10th CBSE - 85%
12th CBSE(last year) - 80%

Got seriously screwed in 12th....Chem - 66; Eng - 70(I hope the jerks checked both those papers are condemned to hell:@ :@ :@ :@ .....i mean i've never got less then 90 in english in my life(even in 10th) and my JEE Mains 2005 score in chem was 48/60:huh:  (still didn't clear...ruined physics only 12/60:(:ashamed: :ashamed::'( :'( ) To top it all of most of the people who never even passed in english in any of the school exams got on an average 88 marks:O :O :S )
Hope i clear IIT this time around.Pray for me guys
