Nothing in this world is perfect... Not even computer parts... They also die... Some sooner... Some Later... Lets see if we can find a trend here... Pics will be appreciated... Let the games begin... Here is my list...

MSI Ti 4200 AGP 8x Died after 8 Months of service... Still is with me... Never overclocked.... Just started artifacting one fine day

XFX GeForce 6600 PCIe 128MB Died after 6 days of service... Reasone of death unknown... Gone back for replacement/repairs :S

XFX 6800 GT PCIe246 MB DDR 3 x 2 First one dies after 6 months second one died after 8 months.,.. These wer not owned my be but my cousions... Got replacement for both... Infact one was upgraded to 7800 GT for a price difference of 1500 bucks :ohyeah:

Microsoft IE 3.0 Optical Mouse Left click started skipping after 6-8 Months military service... Survived the glorious days of my CSS startup days... Everytime i was flancked my mouse got a bashing... Got the replacement for the mouse after 2 Months(I hate M$) that too after 10 phone calls and 3 visists to MS service centre...

Quite a few generic power suppiles... Samsung/Logitech Keyboards... An external HDD enclosure's adapter... Will post more as soon as i remember them...

P.S. This is a perfect thread to make use of use the TE smiley's...
 
couple of SDRAM sticks 128MB.

Intel 440zx motherboard. It was shitty tomato motherboard with integrated sound. I am glad it dies. i upgraded to 440BX after it died.

Total 4 HDDs have died on me. 2 seagate 2 samsung.

Then GF FX5900U died on me. Fortunately got replacement. Died again went in for store replacement and got myself little upgrade ;)

Then 2 6600GTs have gone bad on me. both AGP versions XFX revision 1.

and i have blown 3000+ venice 0517 APAW. And A8N SLI DLX board.

both were replaced. But hat CPU was big loss :(

P.S : Countless mouse/ keyboard/ fans/ psus/ and misc stuff not included :P
 
Last year 4 HDDs dies on me..

IBM 30GB died when I moved its slot in cabinet after 2 years of use - out of warranty

IBM 120GB died after 18 months - "OK at night dead in the morning" syndrome. Out of warranty.

2 x 120GB Maxtors died with the "OK at night dead in the morning syndrome" both in warranty and both replaced with no questions asked. GREAT replacement service.

IBM keyboard died after I dropped a heavy spanner on it from a height of 5 feet. :( My most prized hardware possesion - GONE.

Logitech MX 500 mouse died last month after about 1 year - left click button not clicking anymore - smashed it with a Sledgehammer - YES I did. :@

MS Explorer 3 mouse left button does a double click with single press from day I got it - on seeing an adv from MS about no questions asked replacements sent it to them and they said mouse repaired and returned !!! .... and problem still persists. Never again MS mouse !!!!

2 MS Natural keyboards - keys get very difficult to press after about 1.5 years of use. Need a sledgehammer to press keys. :@ Now using my third MS Natural keyboard.

Bad experience with Viewsonic Monitors - they die after 2 years - just after warranty gets over. Seen at least 5 of them doing this.

NEVER had a CPU or Display card die on me ever since I had my first Comp in 1983 - simply because I dont overclock :)
 
intel 810e original motherboard, 256Mb SD ram, 20Gb HDD, Intex 2.1 Speakers...... these are the components in my old computer all of these died after 1 yr so no warranty:( had to replace all. The ram and motherboard died on the same day:( . then Mobo was replaced with intel 810e based mercury, Ram with 128Mb SD, Seagate 20Gb HDD, Creative SBS 250.

While instaling these new parts in my comp(i.e the new mobo, ram with old CPU) the service guy broke my PIII 500MHz and since its their mistake , i got a celeron 633MHz processor.:@ :@
Also my Samsung CD-rom drive had tray problem.. i broke it and bought a Samsung 52/24/52 CD Writer.

In my new comp
My BIG GF 6600GT died after 2 weeks of purchase:@ .... got a replacement after 15days with 3yrs warranty from that date:D
 
2x 120GB Dead, 1x160GB Dead, 1x Raptor Dead, 1x17GB Seagate dead, 9800 Pro dead, Shitty logitech mouse dead, Asus CuBX mobo dead, Gigabyte K8S760M mobo dead, Sony DDU1621 DVD Rom dead,

Out of those, the asus mobo, the chuha, 17GB HDD and the rom drive were out of warranty. Rest all got replaced.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Awesome thread btw!
 
stuff that died on me: 3 PSUs, one 120gig HDD, one 9800 Pro, one 256MB DDR stick..

stuff that i killed: my old mercury cabinet.. :P
 
hmmm the only soundcard i ever owned died on me :P lol soundblaster audigy !!
then had a couple of 64meg ram sticks die on me!!!
then i screwed one of my mobos i dont remember now.. and got my new comp :) hehehe
 
some optical drives 2 * 40 gb hdd samsung got replaced and umm blown away the psu got it repaored :)
 
Smasung DVD rom died after 1 yr..exactly the next day when its warranty got over...sold it off for 300 :P

Lots of cheap mouse..

ALthough not dead but have got a 4mb gfx card with me.....used it b4 i got the ATI all in wonder pro...:P
 
1 32X Creative CD Rom Drive, 2 Samsung CD Drive, 1 Samsung CD+RW, 1 Krypton CD+RW

1 20G Seagae HDD, 1 Logitech ball mouse, 14inch Samtron Monitor, few 64mb sd ram sticks, 1 APC UPS, TVSE Gold Keyoard. Few NIC cards, Few Internal modems.

All died after warranty
 
1 VIP 400 W psu, some optical drives (not dead actually but it needed lens cleaning / laser power trimming),
1 logitech two button mouse during the days of windows 3.1 (or windows for workgroup dont remember exactly ), 1 Creative savage32 gfx card in the year 1999. (happened while i was installing linux for the first time ...., after that i washed my hands off both linux and the creative gfx cards ...), a few sunon 80 mm case fans,
HDD = None so far ....
M/b = None so far ...
CPU = None so far.....
Rams= None so far ....(actually one 64 mb sdram. the naked, back of the case fan, wire from the psu touched the rams leading to sparks and instant death of the ram module)

Thats about it I guess! Not counting the parts that got replaced.
 
My mobo got screwed on the very first day.... got it replaced luckily.

I dont think it actually died though. I think the BIOS went dead or got corrupted or something.

LiteOn 1653S.... dunno what has happened. Gone for repair. Will be back tomorrow.

Nothying else.... luckily.

300 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 (using 80 GB one atm. Its still in warranty, and is being RMA'd)

6600 GT - killed through volt-mod

Pentium 4 640 - Killed through condensation on my first attempt at phase change...
