PC Peripherals Price Updates from S.P Road (Bangalore) : No Price Request Entertained

Had been to sp road today, got an estimate for my friend's new cpu

total estimate is 22450-25000(excl. vat)

specs are....

>core 2duo 2.66ghz ,1333fsb--->Rs.7850

>DG31PR MoBo --->Rs.3650

>2gb ddr2 --->Rs.1650

>250gb/320gb hdd --->Rs.2700/3400

>dvd writer Song 20X --->Rs.1275

>cabinet --->arnd 2k

>8400GT 512mb/8600GT 513mb --->Rs.4350/6900

Is there any particular shop @ s.p road which offers best prices.???

go to metro,according to me thats the best shop if u r loooking for low prices..

sir,is that 2700/3400 for 16MB cache models..plz reply ..where did u get these quotes.i am thinking of buying a 250/320 GB drive..there is no 8400GT..i think its 8500GT..u can get XFX 8600Gt within 5k..
 
Got a quote of Rs 750/- for the 2.5 inch CoolerMaster XCraft laptop HDD casing from Glasgow Computers on Brigade Road yesterday.

While I was waiting for a floppy drive to arrive, I checked out all his cheap 2.5 inch cases. i.e. Zippy, Supercomp, Advik, Enter and some unbranded SATA+USB casing.

Finish: Enter has semi gloss, Advik has glossy, Zippy has matte black finish. The Supercomp was shiny silver. The Supercomp and Enter looked the best among the lot.

Build quality: The Advik was the worst with the back plastic cover just falling off when I handled it. The Zippy seemed ok. The Enter and Supercomp seemed solid.

I would suggest the Enter or the Supercomp if one wants to purchase. The SATA+USB casing seemed like a casing for larger laptop HDDs altough it just may be bulkier.

Hmm..what else. He had Altec Lansing VS 3251, WD elements(2.5), Maxtor(2.5), Maxtor one touch 4(weird looking shape - 3.5), 250GB WD Passport(2.5) and a lot of other external storage HDDs.

He also seems to have a lot of games that I thought would not be in stock nowadays. I donno much abt games but he had games like FEAR, Doom3, Quake4, Painkiller HL1, HL2, Ghost Recon, Hitman etc. I thought these were quite old.

dude i asked for estimate.. dint get further details... i got this quotation from
AM computers .afaik hdd prices in most of the shops will be same or with difference of 100 bucks. It doesn't matter for hdd's.Also check out SATYAM INFOTECH, that guy offers cheapest price for hdd's in S.P road.This shop is on right side,as soon as you enter S.P road
 
Ooh..I saw Sennheiser HD201 and HD457 at Glasgow too. Just thought I'd let ppl know. One of them had a price tag of 2.5K..I don't remember which.

Bought myself a 320HD 16 MB cache seagate SATA...3600+ tax...golcha..metro didnt have it..

roamed aroung dor hrs and cudnt find a seagate 250GB 16MB HD...finally decided to get 320...plenty HD space to fill my stomach till month end..if money runs out..
 
seems very high...had gt a 320GB Segate 16MB for arnd 3.3k+tax 2 mnths ago...the samsung 320GB was arnd 3150 all incl then
 
had been to almost every shop..that was the cheapest i cud get..

i have to say...watching facial expressions of shopkeepers after saying i needed a 16 MB buffer HD is priceless..:)
