HDD prices have risen in the paset 2-3 weeks. Avg. price of 1TB Seagate 7200.12 is 4350/-. You can get it for 4k~ from ebay by making use of a 20%/500rs coupon.

www.deltapage.com

Else send a PM to registered dealers in the forum for best prices

Thanks again for the reply

as i mentioned earlier the cheapest that i could get was 4550/-

On ebay the seagate drive with 5 yr warranty comes cheapest for 5k including shipping.

so now if only i can lay my hands on a 20% off coupon tht wld make it approx 4k which wld be a good deal.

Could anyone please tell me if GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3R LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard would be available in SP Road Bangalore :)

hmm.. when I had been there last saturday, no one had that board and were not even willing to tell me when it would be available. I was also looking for that one, but have now decided to get P55A UD3R, which, btw should be even more difficult to get :)

I got price quotes from Golchha and Karnataka Computers through mail/phone. I want know whether these prices are look reasonable or should I bargain?. From the previous threads it looks like i5 rates are increased...

GOLCHHA (all items attracts 4% tax)
i5 750 - 9900
P7P55D - 11000
G-SKILL 4 GB DDR3 RAM F3-12800CL9D- 7000/- ONWARDS

Karnataka Computers(not mentioned about tax)
Intel i5 750 - 9900
Asus P7P55D - 9600
G.Skill RipJaws F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL - 6700

So I might by these things from Karnataka Computers this week. I want to know where Karnataka computers located in SP road?

Thanks
Sam

if by Karnataka Computers u mean this website: karnatakacomputerstore.com, then these guys are located on a street opposite to SP Road. Best would be to just go to the entrance of SP Road and give a call to that guy. Either ask him for directions or he'll send a guy to direct you to the shop.
BTW, the exact shop is named as "Infinite Computers", not Karnataka Computers. If you go and ask inside SP Road for Karnataka Computers, then they will direct you to another small shop known only as "KC".

As far as prices are concerned, these are pretty much standard prices, except for P7P55D from Golchha. Thats a little bit high. As for the i5 750, it was actually available for 8800/- from the above mentioned Karnataka Computer guy. I had called him on Tuesday and actually left from work early to go and buy that. He told me he had last two pieces left, but after going there, he was like the guy who he sources it from had left for the day and wanted me to come again the next evening. That was simply not possible and I missed the chance to get it for so cheap. BTW, it was only this guy who was selling for so low. There is no real price drop as such. Else it would be reflected everywhere.

Guys, regarding the quote of i5-750 for Rs.8800 I don't think it is right. Because all the dealers get processors from Distributors and for intel there are two (Ingram and on some other distri, don't remember the name). It is not possible to get such a low price, from only one dealer when the rest of the market is much higher. Even if we assume that he imported directly, the processor is selling for 199 USD since first week of Jan (source newegg). Even the intel official price is 196 USD, for 1000 unit orders, which brings the best price to Rs. 9100 approx. There is no way he can sell it for cheaper price.

It should be either, KC guy got confused with i5-650 (which is dual core), which sells for 20$ cheaper than i5-750, and quoted for that (which tallies) or he deliberately misquoted. Price

Did any body actually buy it for 8800? Please update.

i too went to SP road and checked d price of core i5 750 last week there was no one to sell it for 8.8k the cheapest price i could get was 9.3k...

yea me too not sure. Before I went there, I had called him mulitple times to make sure it was really i5 750. He assured me it was the same and told me to come the same evening. I withdrew money and hurried from office thinking it to be my lucky day:p. After reaching his shop, he tells me he doesnt have it, someone else has it etc.

I also thought it was a bit suspicious. Anyway did not bother going back to him again. I'm thinking sourcing the stuff from TE dealers now.

Is 6500 Rs for XFX 4850 512MB DDR3 a good deal or

12500 for ASUS 4890 1GB DDR5 a good deal or

6700 for ASUS 4770 512MB DDR5 a good deal

12.5k for a 4890 is not a good deal at all.

6.5k looks just about ok to me for the 4850..

Would suggest you go for the 5750 or 5770 instead though

ok guys i will be going to SP road tomorrow, just tell me what all prices you guys wanna know. Will be having a look at the P55s, i5 750 and the 5xxx series.

I don't think Rs6700 is good for a 4770. How is its performance compared to the 5670 ? 5670 512MB is 5.5k right ?
